can non paying bidder give feedback?

Options
Sold three items to same seller and 5 days later hasnt paid despite a reminder.

If i open a case i understand they still have the chance to pay. Can they then leave bad feedback as well?

Yes, a case can be opened 4 days after the transaction.

The buyer has a further 4 days to pay.

If the case closes without payment any negative feedback left can be removed by eBay
  • so if they pay they can still leave feedback?

    Seems crazy if they can

Did you mean If they don't pay?

Of course paying customers can leave feedback if they wish.

Buyers don't have to pay immediately, eBay gives buyers 4 days to pay.

As soon as a buyer clicks wins an auction or a BIN, they are entitled to leave feedback.

If they don't pay they lose the entitlement.
  • sorry to clarify:

I have a buyer who hasnt paid 6 days after winning bid

A few days ago i sent an invoice as a reminder.

    He still hasnt paid.

If i open a NPB i understand he has 4 days to pay.

If he pays after i have opened the case could he then still leave feedback?

Yes, if he pays after opening the case, he can leave feedback.

After you open a case, that gives the buyer 4 days to pay.

If they haven't paid after the 4 days given in the case, you can close the case,
your Final Value Fees will be refunded and any feedback that the buyer has left can be removed by eBay

Why do you think a paying customer should not be able to leave feedback?

yes of course he can leave feedback if he pays.

If he doesn't pay, and the NPB closes and you get your fees back, then he can't leave feedback.

  • Thanks - i know some people would just leave a neg and poor stars because a case had been open against them and as its three items that could cause me issues.

Least i know now so thank you.

I can understand why you're worried about a buyer who's bought three items an hasn't paid after 6 days.

Too late now, I know, but in future you can set your buyer preferences (in site preferences) to prevent buyers buying too many items from you at once.

Don't be tempted to request a cancellation from your buyer because she can leave feedback for you even after a cancellation and if she refuses you lose your fees too.

Best thing would be to message the buyer saying that your account is set to open a non-payment case automatically and explain that gives her a further 4 days to pay.

Fingers crossed that the buyer has buyer's remorse and won't pay.
  • Thanks for that

So on the account is it possible to set it this way? Dont want to say it is if thats not possible!!!

    Thanks again

Yes, in Site Preferences, Buyer Requirements there's

'Buyers who may bid on several of my items and not pay for them'

Click that then choose the number of items you'll allow each buyer.

(This is for the future remember, won't affect your present buyer.)
