Childrens shoes...

Such a big expense! My kids only ever have one pair of shoes at a time because they grow out of them within months. My youngest threw one shoe out of the buggy the other day so I need to get down to the shoe shop asap before someone notices that my child has no shoes :rotfl::rotfl:
However....clarks shoes (which my kids always have) are really expensive (hence my one pair at a time philosophy). Where do you all get your childrens shoes from, where is good for fitting and reasonably priced/cheap? Does anyone get their childrens shoes from really cheap places like shoe zone or are they no good for growing feet?

Lately with DD her feet have been growing so quickly, I've been getting them measured in Clarks then just buying Clarks shoes from eBay - sooooo much cheaper! I only buy ones that look like they haven't had much wear, at this age (she's 2.5) you find a lot with hardly any wear as the kids feet grow so quickly!DFW by end of June 2016...! LBM June 2011

I'm another that gets my kids measured in Clarks and then goes to an outlet shop (Gunwharf Quays, Ashford or Gillingham).
Also I know what width my daughter is and stock up on the next size or 2 in the sales if I can.
Tried cheaper shoes from Mothercare and others, and ended up with them falling apart within a week, so we stick to Clarks.:j Is MSE saving me money, or making me spend more on all the bargains?!:j0 -
I've been getting them measured in clarks then buying leather ones from Next, or brantano (hush puppies) but only in the sale. At the moment I have found Next to be by far the best fit for 2 of my children, and they last about the same sort of time, but then they are older now, and turn their nose u at the clarks styles!0

Clarks for school shoes, the rest are from Next, trainers from sports direct, uggs & converse from office etc0

Clarks on Ebay when he was small. Will do the same when new girl arrives. Just haven't got the funds to buy new Clarks / StartRite ones, especially when school ones last 5 minutes.Little lady arrived 13/12/110

Hi
I buy from the Clarkes outlet at Blackpool.
Have you tried looking at the Clarkes website ? I think you can have specific sizes delivered to the store for you to try on. Particularly good if they are in the sale.

Just a warning about Clarks and Ebay.... A saleslady in Clarks told me (after I questioned why DD was a size 9 rainboot, 10 shoe, etc) that their shoes are now made in different factories, so the sizing is really erratic. I've bought Clarks sandals on Ebay and found them to be 1.5 sizes bigger than her normal shoe size. So just be careful that your LOs aren't getting squashed toes if you don't get measured for that particular shoe. There should be a good fingerspace between toes and end of shoe.
Their Stompa sandals are particularly huge.Debts 2004: £6000..............................................Aug 2007: £0!!!!0
