Letters get lost in the post all the time, sometimes they get binned when lazy postmen can't be bothered to deliver. Sometimes they get lost behind machinery. This is such a tiny thing to get wound up about, who cares.I get enough exercise just pushing my luck0

You're kidding right? Bucketloads of post goes missing, gets long term delayed, emails bounceback from server errors, systems glitches and so on.0 -

Wise up please
And thank you for your replys
Judging by the state of your posts, I guess you wouldn't really have understood the letter even if you had read it.I thought the kids went back to school weeks ago.0 -
As others have said plenty of letters get lost.
As I've pointed out Egg do not have a reputation for not informing people or cynically losing lots of post (if they did we'd know about it).
Email IME is FAR worse. I don't get email all the time that people claim they have sent.
I think you need to wise up not me :-)
Not getting a letter about something you can't change anyway is not something to give yourself an ulcer about.0 -
I agree with a couple of the points above re the Barclaycard take over.
I know I got a letter regarding my savings account (that only has 11p in :rotfl:) advising me that all accounts with (I think) less than £100 would be closed and the funds returned to the account owner. I am pretty certain the same will have happened with inactive credit card accounts.
They will have sent you a letter but it's gone astray somewhere.0 -

For those on the forum with a cynical outlook some might say that you seem to have trouble with all sorts of things, perhaps because novels are more your forte !0 -
There is legal precedent for EGG to assume that a letter sent by normal post arrives.I was not informed about this. Is this allowed?
For example the police can prosecute you for not naming the driver if an NIP (notice of intended prosecution) was sent.
They are legally entitled to treat you (including prosecution) as if the letter had arrived, even if it didn't.
Sorry if you don't agree, but that's the law.
YOu can also choose to blame EGG if you wish. Doesn't make you right.0 -
I always find it amazing when dealing with large organisations and even government bodies that when they say they have posted something it is taken that you must have received it, yet when things are the other way round they can just say they never received it and you are expected to provide proof that you posted it to them before they will believe you.0
