I can not say too much as obviously you never know who is reading what.
But to clarify, we were working with our lead engineer not following all of the company's guidelines
On working practices. I have worked the same way for 10 years and it goes on. But someone reported us,
So now the company have to be seen to be doing something.
I work on the motorway and we over stayed on the hard shoulder,
There is a rule of how long, our company says 15min without cones. Some do 45, it has never been ratified.
We were there guess here but 20 to 30 mins.
There is other things, we had a little bonus from some redundant cable. Which if they looked hard enough,
They would see the whole work force is doing. Was only a couple of tenners. But they see it differently
So when I'm in tomorrow , we have had hinted that there will be the option to bow out if it comes to that .
My only worry is the reference.
You've just lost any sympathy you might have had from me matey.0 -

fair enough i understand
this is something that happens all the time, i know people who have funded cars, conservatories, family holidays etc out of end of job stuff
was not asking for sympathy, just advice on best way to bow out
i realize i was silly, and for that i will loose a decent paid job car, etc etc
and put the house and family in jeopardy
but im trying to put a positive spin on a mistake i will think about for the rest of my working
so regarding an agreed reference, is there anyway i should approach this?0 -

Hi titch. I completely sympathise with you on this issue. I think the certificates are your property, as you did the training and earned them.
If you resigned under any threat of dismissal. They would probably put that as the reason for leaving. Resigned during disapliniary investigation. Although, in my honest opinion it may give you grounds for contructive dismissal, seeing as you left under pressure (thread of dismissal)
This is just my opinion though.0 -

Rubbish!
Where has the employer breached the OP's contract? He has admitted theft and a failure to follow safety procedures!0 -

I didn't read the thread properly then, nowhere did I see him say "I stole" anyways it is my opinion. I never said it was a fact.
If I was to resign under a dismissal investigation, I would say that was pressure.0 -

Oh really? There is other things, we had a little bonus from some redundant cable. Which if they looked hard enough,

I think not.0 -

Now I see it sue. Some redundent cable that was no longer needed, instead of giving it back to the employer he sold it to make himself a profit?0
