and secondly I recommend Revlon Colourstay Foundation for oily skin
Agreed, have been using this product for the last 13 years or so on my oily mush (or whenever it was that Cindy Crawford promoted it). It's miles better than MAC oil-free but my skin is still greasy at the end of the day so then I blot it with tissue and touch up with MAC studio-fix powder.

Another advantage was that Revlon had a range of darker shades in the UK before most other popular brands so captured my loyalty for that alone! I am quite dark (a similar shade to this former Miss World) and have always used Rich Tan.

    Hope this helps.

  • Basic things are not to use harsh products, it makes a big difference if you start using products like simple.

The biggest difference I had was when I started using a soap & glory moisturiser called clear here. It has made such a big difference to my skin, it is no longer an oil slick by the end of the day but stays relatively shine free.

That looks a good choice:) you can lighten it slightly if you need to with moisturiser or whatever you fancy (I sometimes use wrinkle filler:rotfl:) its such a great product because you can mix it and still get really good coverage and staying power, which is important for us with oily skin:)

Trouble with foundation i have is that after a couple of hours of applying foundation i get a really shiney slick looking face, sometimes i find a foundation that works well for a while but then i find it stops working at well  but i will give this a go and hope it works for me:o what about primer will that help? is there any other tips you have, ive heard putting egg whites on your face for ten mins really helps but i dont really fancy that lol.

The other product I found to be useful is Clinque's facial soap for oily skins (the dark bar). I was very surprised that it helped to clear up my acne.

If you want no shine at all try the thread I linked to in my first post, mineral make up (lily Lolo) dried my skin a lot but although it was matte I looked old, if you get spots my never be without product is Freederm Gel, stay away from powder unless you buy a very finely milled (expensive one) product like TE Leclerc, use products for your face that use the word hydrate rather than moisturise and a tissue just dabbed your skin when you get that shine works well with the colourstay and still leaves a slight glow:)
Thank you for this site Martin

I tried the OCM but I didn't like it.

I'm using this at the moment and my skin is less oily and the pores do look smaller. (I've been using it for about 3 weeks.) I bought the 50ml size off eBay to see if it worked before splashing out on the larger size. http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?hl=en&gs_upl=8733l8733l3l8947l1l1l0l0l0l0l0l0ll0l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1440&bih=817&wrapid=tlif131782020617710&q=alpha-h+balancing+cleanser&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=4821848347387104170&sa=X&ei=VVeMTtvgO8Oo0AXCxeziBQ&ved=0CFkQ8wIwAA#

I've started use a mattifying lotion under my make up, and it make a bit of difference

I have heard Smashbox is meant to be good as a primer, I don't bother any more as every primer for oily skin I have ever used has not been compatible with make-up.

This summer I have been using this sunscreen under make-up rather than a moisturiser, although it needs a couple of minutes to sink in it's non-comedogenic and stops my oily face from catching the sun. I'm not a fan of BTC by any means, but you cannot beat their Soltan range for quality sun protection, their invisible spray is also good but I tend to use that for the body.
