We've been with FD for 2 years and not had any problems. Service always seems really good. I like the fact I don't have to call them. I can send a secure message and the query gets dealt with.0

Re the £1500 monthly vs £1 in a savings account/or credit card or whatever, I did have a lengthy conversation with FD a few weeks back, and repeated to them what I understood it to be:
If if have another account (savings/credit card, etc), I will not be charged the monthly fee (£10, I think). But I do still need to deposit £1500 in the account every month.
Yes, that's it, they said.
I've done this for the £100 (and the 8% Reg savings account). It's no problem, I just recirculate various bits of money.
If anyone knows any different, or is phoning FD - and finds out I'm incorrect, then would you mind letting us know, please?0 -
I switched my account to them . . . don't regret the discussion one bit. I love the way I speak to someone whenever I call.
I liked them so much, I have also switched my mortgage to them (on a fees free deal they offered to existing clients) . . . again service has been excellent.
Why can't all companies be like this?

I joined FD about 11-12 years ago. At the time, I did a straw poll amongs friends and 9/10 were very happy with them. One friend did get messed around a lot and so left. But that was more than 10 years ago.
I am very pleased with the service I receive.0 -

They always answer my calls within a few rings
They are polite and helpful
I can deposit and withdraw money from HSBC (if you want to withdraw large sums make sure you have ID and your cheque book or they won't do it)
I was with Cahoot who were a shambles. I LOVE FIRST DIRECT :-)0 -
Another 10/10 from me.
I was with Smile before and I thought they were good, but FD are even better."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0
