    having paid off the mortgage and now owning our house outright I can't think why renting would be better for us, we have an asset worth a lot more than we paid for it. On the other hand if we were unsettled in our careers and unsure of where we were going to settle then renting might be a better plan.

    As others have said it's a very subjective thing and eveyone has to decide how they want to spend their money.

    Never really fancied the caravan lifestyle to be honest.

    Tory, Lib Dem or Labour? - different strokes for different folks, depends on individual - we still have a poll every 4 years to find the consensus.

    buying simply because id rather be suicidal because I'm paying my own mortgage off, not suicidal because I'm paying someone else's off.
