Car number plate wanted... NOT ASK-REG!!

I want a number plate for my birthday so picked it off DVLA and used ask-reg.com to purchase as cheaper and had 10% Quidco.

11 days later they have taken the money and I've heard nothing else, have emailed twice, phone number rings twice and cuts off, worst of all the number plate is still available to buy on DVLA...not looking good.

A new website seems to have popped up for them too under the name ukcarregistrations which looks too dodgy too!!

Anyone have any idea about this company or have suggestions for legit ones, or should I just deal with the extra cost and go through the DVLA?

Gutted, and blooming annoyed!! Hopefully the bank can help, though not till 15 days have passed. Any help? Advice?

Sorry if in wrong place, pleae don't kick a girl when she's down ;)

If you think they are working illegally (eg stealing money under the pretense they are selling something which does not exist) I'd report them to the police and trading standards. (And also to Quidco!) But you've already done that, right?

They are a legitimate company, or have been! Surely I should give them the 15 days VISA allow for? But in the mean time I thought asking for advice would be a good thing, right?

I'd send them an email warning, then report them: mate, they took your money, do you have the goods? No? Then they stole. Don't know where you stand on this from a legal stand point but me? I'd report them.

I agree, I will be doing something, reporting them to the police sounds a little silly though so I'll give that a miss...think they would laugh me off the phone. Trading standards is a good call but Quidco are full of such morons I got a reply back saying tracking and payment can take longer...blah, blah...not sure they give a toss but sent back an angry reply asking them to read my email fully this time!

Thanks for the info but number is not recognised. I'm not surprised.
