Best way to backup wordpress website

I choose WordPress Importer seemed a logical choice and I did a restore....the problem is now I seem to have two of everything on my website menus


How can I get this back to normal ? When I look in the pages option there only seems to be one of each page !

The Wordpress importer will not overwrite the pages/posts/images that are already on the site.

It's essentially for uploading if you move servers etc.

Log into your CPanel -> click on your MySQL databases -> click export -> save to a safe place on your PC

And this will allow you to import and overwrite any Wordpress blog, should it be hacked, database corrupted etc?

Or will previous versions of Wordpress be needed to be uninstalled first?

I use Wordpress a lot and a simple way of backing everything up, with it simple and quick to import again, is a must.
