Zafira Spanner Light?

the spanner light flashing with ignition turned on is an immobiliser fault . try the spare key if you have one.

if its on when the engine is running its a fault with engine or transmission electronics . im reading this straight of the manual on my computer.

It is possible to view fault codes without any special kit using the following method:

yes, depending what model you have. your best bet is to register with that forum and do the pedal trick and post up the results on there. there will be more people to help you.
