Its Mainly Panel Damage, Defo don't want it back ... Anyway i can't tell them so.

1). Im worried about having it back after the accident esp as the Airbags did not deploy
2). As its on a PCP its surely going to cause problems with the Deal
    3). Future Re-Sale Values

PLEASE Can Someone Help, Im stressing out here :(

Genuinely - dont be worrying. You have gap insurance if they write it off. The PCP deal will most likely be cancelled and another established for your next car.

I'd say theres a 95% chance they will write it off. If they dont, insist its done at a bodyshop you are happy with rather than one of theirs.

These things happen. Its unfortunate and always stressful for the innocent party which is really unfair.

It will all sort itself out whether you stress and worry or not.

I'd say Cat C/D, so you might have the chance to get it back to fix, or if you don't want it chances are in a few months time the car will reappear on the road having been fixed by someone else who bought it from a salvage dealer.

The dealership may be quoting the highest price they can that the insurance company will take.
I'll go against the flow and stick a virtual fiver on them repairing it.

This is based on the airbags not going off and the OP saying it's mainly cosmetic damage.

Is the dealer quoting just for labour eg the quote says "Parts at Manufacturers List Prices" or does it actually include the cost of the parts

As a previous poster mentioned, the hire costs, recovery costs, compound costs have no bearing on whether the car is a write off

You know as little as the OP about things so kiss goodbye to your fiver.:rotfl:

Has te assessor been to see the car?
  • My Insurance Company don't seem to work like that ... Car has been to 2 VW Dealer BodyShops and both have quoted just under £8,900 for the work using a new System that is Insurance Company Approved: Audatex which is then sent across to them and they can view a 3D Model of that car and all the work to be done (i.e. Windscreen Replacement etc) can be viewed by them.

I am told by the Call Centre Staff the Engineers then review each quote and go through it and then make a decision on it i.e, Repair or Write Off.

But given it is more or less £9,000 for repairs and given it is only an estimate could go up would the insurance company take that risk ? or will they write it off

Hire costs normally stop when the total loss payment is made (or soon after).

Hire costs on a policyholders own policy are relatively rare and are typically limited to 7 or 14 days.

The Insurers normally provide a fairly basic car which normally costs them less than £20 a day.

The cost of a hire car normally is not taken into effect.

If it was a non fault accident against a third party using credit hire, this would be a different matter.

As previous posters have mentioned, the trigger point for a write off is typically 60% to 70% of the market value of the pre accident car depending on salvage values
