Its also an index which measures achieved price. Which I'm pretty sure means sold.

Different methodology maybe, but the results are still a fact.

    Oh purlease.

They use a different methodology when prices are increasing. That's why ISTL is happy to talk about them and thank the posters using them when they show something other than falls.

I'm h appy to discuss and debate the merits of any index graham.
Of course there are some that are more substantial than others.

This index is a fine example to look beyond the headline figures and understand how the data is made up.

At the end of the day, a survey of opinion that in retrospect has been prooven to be very wrong of course is open to get the !!!! ripped out of it.

Move on and untwist your knickers

P.s. don't read too much into who or what I've thanked.
    I've thanked you on occasion.
    I've even thanked geneer.
Sometimes I thank a post because I like a point they made in their post
and sometimes I've liked most of the post but not thanked it because of something particular said.

Trying to figure out what a poster means by what they thank will be a fruitless task for you

Though apparently not Hometrack which you dismiss.
And apparently not Nationwide, which needs no debate, because it gives you comfort.
Though you did think the Land Reg needed some "enhanced understanding" which I'm sure was nothing to do with the fact it was showing the biggest falls.

Of course you'll be sniffing around Rightmove and RICS if it suits you, won't you lite?

LOL, I dont jump from index to index, I merely discuss what others have raised.

I was happy to discuss the Hometrack report and found a flaw in it's methodology which was worth pointing out to others.

Keep fishing geneer, I understand you want to detract from the topic again as you don't like the information provided.
