Everything is currently failing. The economy is preparing itself for another recession. Greece will default.
And here are the housing bulls on this site, dismissing the notion that house price falls may start to accelerate, because it's based on opinion and we don't have the data. OF COURSE we don't have the data, it's looking ahead!!!
The ignorance, the head in sand mentality, is truly astonishing.
How many other factors have contributed to a certain group believing in massive future falls?
 Housing Benefit
 Capital Gains Tax
 VAT increase
 Stamp Duty re-instatement
 Change in government
 Unemployment
 Wage freezes
 etc
 etc
 etc
How many more straws do you want to clutch?
P.S. I'm dismissing the 15 months historical house price consecutive drops as it's based on opinion, not fact.:wall:
What we've got here is....... failure to communicate.
Some men you just can't reach.

So it's based on the contributors opinion on achievable sell price.
Not actual data, just mere opinion
 :rotfl:
 Hometrack. What a joke.
And just how gullible are the bears for believing it month after month. If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0

 Oh dear!
Heres just ONE example, of quite a few, of you thanking one of the bulls for using the Hometrack figures. Generali suggested rose tinted glasses, Hamish uses Hometrack figures to "prove" his argument.

You thank it. So does ISTL, as it's what you want to see.
So who's desperate to believe what?
Or how about this thread, where Hamish wouldn't let Hometrack figures go, or have anything said about them?! My cheeky reply?

So Hometrack is now a joke, now that they say price falls will accelerate...but not a joke anytime they say anything you personally like? Yup. Pretty much sums up the level of discussion you are able to provide.0

Hometrack of course tracks asking prices for all properties left on the market.
As opposed to Rightmove, which averages only the last months new listings.
Now which would you think is more representative of the overall market I wonder.0

I only ask because you seem to be slipping so well into a total stereotype, despite your recent arrival.0

Sorry, but how can you have data, for something that has not yet happened?
 I'm very confuddled.0

You can't and that's my point.
You can't see how you "love it" cos it agrees with your point of view but would be asking for a source which uses real data instead of silly opinions if it didnt tally with your view.
In fact, just what you're accusing others of.
Anyway, now you've thought about it are you really surprised homeowners expect their house to outperform the market?0

What? I'd not ask for a source that uses real data, to try and suggest a prediction is wrong. Predictions are not based on data as there is no possible data without having the ability to see into the future. Hence why I have never done what you are suggesting I would.
You are way off the mark on this one. I'm happy to admit failings, and happy to admit I saw this and would give it to those with their hands in the sand and give it large. But you are just making stuff up now to have a pop.0

Quite clearly when I thanked that post, I had not researched the methodology.
Instead of debating the methodology or discussing the topic, you infer of something I have thanked in the past as your argument.
Maybe I didn't do enough research on the article last time, sometimes I don't have the time, you would have been free to point it out back then if you wanted.
Back on topic then, what's your thoughts on the stat's now knowing the methodology?:wall:
