Hi,
My mother has a contract with BT for her broadband and evening & weekend calls which is coming to an end, my question is will she have to renew a contract for say another 18 months or can she just keep paying the same monthy amount for the service without a contract?

The minimum term for the contract has ended that's all,she will now be out of contract and able to continue without signing a new one, unless of course it was an auto renewal in which case she should have been advised that it was coming to an end and would renew.0

The contract will be a rolling one; the 18 month bit is just the minimum amount of time your Mum would have needed to be with BT before she could cancel it. So, she can sit back and do nothing and all will
remain as before or she could ring them up and see if they could do a better deal or move to another provider.0 -
Thanks for the replies, I think the best thing would be to not enter a new contract so she could cancel whenever she wants.
Thanks again.0 -
Just be careful it's not one of these auto-renewing contracts, whereby you'll have a window of opportunity to tell them you do NOT want to renew (thus go on to a rolling monthly contract). If you miss this window then the contract renews automatically for 12 or 18 months.
I'm not saying you DO have one of these contracts - just that you should check so you don't get caught out.
