Two words - "dumbing down"
- Switch on X Factor (or similar)
- Switch off brain
- Absorb brainwashing telling you to vote
- While brain is switched off ring up and vote
- TV company makes lots of money.
Or you could do something productive, like contribute to these forums.

My take on reality shows as well.Look at Hells Kitchen USA for example. The's a couple of contestants on the red team who are useless, but because they don't get on with each other, they constantly dodge elimination despite being on the block every week as their bickering would increase the ratings.0 -

Or read a book...listen to some music...make a model kit...get intimate with the wife/boyfriend/hamster...:rotfl:0 -
Will only make advertising revenue if people keep watching. I will be reading my book on Saturday nights. I know a lot of people who no longer watch the show.0

Which one was your singer not? Or all of the above including a poor singer
Oh no, my sister was at the initial auditions where you audition to get a second audition to win a "proper" audition.
Its a joke, all the TV crap you have to sit through is unbelievable. Dermot rocked up thinking he was God giving the royal wave.0 -
If you need to get your "fix" you could always try watching the US version instead? Seem to have some pretty good singers on that one.0

It's taken this long for people to realise that the X Factor is a pop competition and not a signing competition?

Oh dear.
Or, indeed, barely a competition at all. Merely a means to make money."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I never thought I'd admit this but I actually quite enjoy X Factor.
But they're a TV show and love the free exposure from seemingly wrong decisions.
FWIW, I think that Cheryl will be back next week and she'll be mentoring the few great ones (Jade, Terry etc) that so "shockingly" didn't make it through to the live finals.0 -
I now sky+ it, so I can watch interesting stuff like Casualty on the other side.
When I do watch it, I can whizz through the sob stories, and fillers (80% of the show), so I can hear the performances. Last time I voted was for JLS.0
