                    HI,
What amount would a single mum get towards childcare for one child. She works 18 hours a week and gets approx 510 a week net. The childcare is £105 per week. Thank you.

I dont think she is in the real world. Give the money to people like me who earn a dam sight less and have to work many more hours. Also how many childminders do you know charge £5.83 per hour?0

Those 18 hours might be spread across 5 mornings/afternoon or maybe break a little into both? Since most nurseries do sessions, for many people (Myself included) even though you may finish work at 1pm by the time you travel to nursery its 1.30pm which just breaks into the afternoon session at my nursery.
5x half day sessions could be £22.50 each if its in an expensive area of London or something. Mine ar £15 per half session, but I'm up north where its a lot cheaper.
£510 net a week, is equivalent for approx £56k a year full time this is a perfectly reasonable salary if the person in question is in a professional role i.e, doctor, lawyer, accountant.
Belive it or not, not everyone on this site is a paper pusher on £15k a year. Although I agree, that she probably won't be entitled to much, I think a household salary of £26,000 a year would qualify for something0
