Were you an existing customer of nationwide when you applied? If so, they might just conduct a internal review as you suggested instead of quotation search. I do not have any account with nationwide and I guess they have to do some sort of search to provide me with a quote.
Yes I am a nationwide customer, I was actually shopping around when I went in to a branch and had a quote done for me, and hence I was not keen to do a credit check on my file
I remember being asked the following questions during the soft quote process,
If I have a Current account with debit card
Number of years I have my current account
Number of years I lived at my address,
If I have any credit/ store card
If I have missed 3 or more credit payments within last 12 month period
    My annual income

Silly question - how do I go about getting the pre-application quote for a credit card? Been on the website and can only find links to make an actual full application for the credit card....
    £170/£12,000

A long way to go but enjoying the challenge! ;)

the 'quotation' process is actually part of the the 'actual' application. Once you fill in all information required, nationwide will give you a quote and you can decide if you would like to go for it. hope this helps. :D

I did my application in a local branch, not sure if it is the same process as on-line application

They gave me £700 and 19.9% but then declined me :(.
Oh well, I don't need another card anyway, seen as I had already filled the form in I thought I may as well submit it.

What I mean was if it comes up with £500 limit and 19.9% APR then you can be 99% sure the application will be declined.

That's not to say all results with a higher limit will be approved.

I got a quote of 1k limit and 15.9% APR, went to proceed and within an instant they declined me (page didn't even load)! They blamed data held on experian credit file.

Just been offered £500 at 19.9% so from what I have read on many posts, I'd be foolish to attempt to apply as I will be almost certainly declined!

Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!

I'm an existing customer, I opened the loan page and got declined without even going through a quote!

I went for a quote a few months back, think I got 24.4% (loan) and tried to take it (hadn't read this!). Could that be why they don't even bother going through the 'application'? Or my internal rating has been destroyed?

I'd guess at the latter.... My overdraft won't increase due to 'recent levels of activity'. My credit card review period is up in a few days, but would be amazed if they put that up!

Was just going to put through a few grand and see if it soft quoted 24.4% as my accounts with them are slightly better now than in recent weeks, but can't even do that!
