Morrisons have had no other complaints, Didnt the trading standards test the pumps? I presume they found the
fuelt to be OK?
Taking them to court will be money wasted. They have the trading standards in their side and the proof
no more claims have been made.
Down to you and the dealer, Either you filled with the wrong fuel or the dealer used the worng fuel excuse to blame
any faults on you.
Proving the fact will be difficult and possibly money down the drain if thinking of going to court. On your side will
be the fuel receipt and the trading standards findings on the pump being correct.
What did the tradings standards report say? I never did see that.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Red herring and disguises are all around, sorry for my suspicious nature but, you can't expect that story to be believed,:o
The op states:
the car promptly broke down a few hours later
The car would not have run for a few hours . .
and
( we have our receipt and a copy of their cctv showing my hubby using diesel pump)
That doesn't fit with your theory . . . unless, they used all the Morrisons diesel in "a few hours" and re-fuelled somewhere else.0 -
I would suggest you consult a solicitor for advice, with the above facts.
Obtain a letter from Morrisons confirming they are 100% correct on fuel as no other complaints. Say you have cctv of filling.
From your comments it would seem the dealer is avoiding his soga responsibilities and acting dishonestly - although pretty incredible as it is highly likely you would search out cctv to confirm your filling up.
Is it a large or small dealer?0 -

Correct, However the evidence that Morrisons fuel was at fault is disputed yeah?
Something is still smelling of fish :AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Yup, dont think Morrisons fuel is at fault, but the op has the cttv and diesel receipt . . hmmm, could it really be a novel approach taken by a car dealer . . . seems a bit ott though0

hi guys thanks for all the comments as far as the fuel is concerened we def did not fill with the wrong fuel - like i said we have our till receipt which states we bought 25 litres of diesel and when morrisons were adament there was nothing wrong with thier fuel we asked them for the cctv footage of my hubby filling up the car which shows him clearly using the diesel pump!!! We now have a letter from mnorrisons which states there was nothing wrong with thier diesel they have had no complaints and their insurance dept will not llook at our claim. trading standards checked out all of the deliveries, paperwork and took a 5l sample of fuel from the pump to test and everything is in order and they have not had any complaints from the public so they have said the petrol could not have come from morrisons. because we have had to discount morrisons of the source of the problem we have to try and find out how the 25l of diesel hubby put in the car at 11.37am on the Friday turned into pure petrol (not even dielsel mixed with petrol) by 9.30 am Saturday morning!!!!! I know it seems far fetched that the dealer has done this but its looking like the only possibility.
Its a small dealer just a guy on his own.0 -
btw my hubby drove about 20 miles in total from collecting the car from the dealer and it breaking down! i can give you all a time line of events if anyone interested!!!!! Also we can prove the car wasnt driven enought to have used all the diesel we purchased at morrisons and refuelled elsewhere as my husband was at work for 8 hours and the car was in a secure car park. also the petrol cap can only be opened from inside the car so it has to have been domeone with the keys!0

Have you had a test done of the fuel that is in the car now? They should be able to trace it to a supplier. If the fuel in the car can be traced to Morrisons then you either used the wrong pump or wrong fuel came out of the pump.
If the fuel test does not match with any of Morrisons supplies then the fuel must have come from elsewhere and you may have a case for investigating further.0 -
we have a sample but i didnt think you would be able to trace it to the supplier!!! will look into this thanks0
-
you would be surprised how far back in the delivery chain fuel can be traced, it should be traceable right back to the refinery that produced it. At every major delivery point there should have been samples.
I don't know where you can get these tests done or how much it will cost but I know it is possible.0
