Thank you for all those suggestions. Just to update you we decided to go to The New Forest area. We are staying in a bnb.

another suggestion to keep in mind - Cross the border into Wales!
Cardiff is a lovely city, great night life and it has a whole street dedicated to chippies (the potato sort - not carpenters). Usually something happening - Cardiff loves a party!
The south wales coastline is beautiful and some great places to stay.
If you like history we can cater for that too - up in the valleys are fascinating real life museums - and even the Welsh go to the museum of Welsh Life at St Fagans near Cardiff.
Food - award winning restuarants and plenty of Pub Grub!
Spectacular scenery - met many tourists who usually say 'I didnt realise it was going to be as green as this - was expecting coal tips'!
I dont work for the Welsh Tourist Board - I just love my part of the world!
