UK Holiday Destination

Hi all,

My wife and I have booked a week off work - October 17th - 21st. We have been to Bath, York & Derbyshire and would like to go somewhere else. I did look at Prague but that's too expensive for our budget of around £300 for the week? Could I have suggestions of nice places to stay in the UK around that time please?

Many thanks,

Chris

Update

We live in Cambridgeshire and I come from Norfolk -so those destinations wouldn't be holiday for us.

Is a coach holiday of any interest, You get on knowing nobody, by the time half the week is over you have made so many friends
National Holidays are brilliant, have a look at their website, the last minute bargains are brilliant.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

As a young couple a coach holiday wouldn't interest us - thank you for your reply though.

How about north Devon, the coastline is stunning whatever the weather, access to exmoor, watersmeet is lovely, theres a cliff railway in Lynmouth, Clovelly is pretty. We are in Norfolk and find it such a change of scenery.
Saunton sands is just our fave beach, there a brill hotel that looks right over it, called saunton sands hotel, we have never stayed there but have always wanted to. http://www.brend-hotels.co.uk/thesauntonsands/lateavailability.html
but we have stayed in the villas actually on the beach

Or the new forest, roam for miles, picnic, see the horses, lots to do here as well.

The Isle Of Wight is lovely with lots of places to visit. You could look at the Daily Mail offer for Park resorts as it would be £40 for a Monday to Friday break (it is £10 per person, but you have to pay for 4 and don't forget to check extras like service charges and entertainment passes for the pool and nightime cabaret).

By the way the half term week in London is the week following your dates, so may be the same in other parts of the country, so may be some last minute deals aound the country. You could check this sites flighchecker and see if there are any cheap flights for your dates and plan a holiday round those abroad.

I don't know if you are a young couple a theme park type break might suit as you can get cheap Thorpe Park tickets off ebay and could look at cheap nearby hotels in Staines and from there also visit London sites one day.
  • I'm seconding the Isle of Wight!

    Hi

What about taking the train up to Glasgow or Edinburgh ? Or hop across the channel to France or Belgium ?
