Mirror's £1 National Express offer is a con

This offer is a con. Although it says in the offer that you can "choose your date and time to travel", and even encourages you to take advantage of the offer to do your christmas shopping, and to visit family and friends, the only tickets offered to me for the £1 price tag were between 11pm and 6am!!!!! How am I supposed to go shopping at midnight? And I'm pretty sure my family wont be too impressed if I turn up on their doorstep at 1am!!!! There is NO mention in the article t's & c's about these restrictions, and they only show up when you log on and try to purchase your tickets. I have sent this information to Watchdog, and I would encourage you all to do the same thing, as the more people that complain about the misleading advertising, the more likely we are going to be to get the prices that they quote at a reasonable time. If anyone does manage to find journey for £1 at a sensible time, please let me know they route that you have found it on, as so far I havent been able to find any. What a con!!!!!!!!

Looks a good offer, seriously it does. I wont be contacting watchdog but thanks.0

Perhaps all the £1 "daytime" travel tickets had been taken by the time you applied. As long as you are made aware of what's available before you pay, I can't see a problem.
I also will not be contacting Watchdog. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
This is the sort of thing that the Advertising Standard Authority (ASA) would look into, if there really were no seats or significantly insufficient seats made available compared to the demand likely.
In some cases they find that it is just a case of all the £1 seats for reasonable times on all routes were snapped up, but there was a generous amount available.
But sometimes they find that none or just a couple are available on some routes at reasonable times.
Seen complaints against budget airlines and newspapers being upheld before by the ASA.0 -
i've sent this off to watchdog. i've included a cover letter explaining they've done nothing wrong, but because i have an 8 month old baby and i deserve compensation for not being able to travel at a time that suits me, even though other people are quicker off the mark than i am.
and also because i have an 8 month old baby. that's gotta be worth a few quid?helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -

They are discriminating against people with children for starters
Don't get me started on the fact National Express are also discriminating people who don't read newspapers and/or those who can't read0 -
Best time to travel! Its about the only time you can be reasonably sure there won't be too many noisy children, mobile phone users, ipod listeners or smelly food eaters. I travel by coach very frequently as I prefer them to trains by a mile, but most times I end up buying two seats just to give myself half a chance of a quieter journey. But at £1 a ticket I would put up with all those horrors, to get a quiet journey too would be a wonderful bonus.0

Its a good time if you're traveling long distance like somewhere in the south of England to Edinburgh or Glasgow (which a mate of mine at University frequently had to do as he was from Glasgow) and just kip on the coach.
Its hardly a con if the only tickets left are between 11pm and 6am though, like others have said it just means other readers got the other routes / times before you (the Daily Mirror is a national paper after all).
