NSD's 1 & 2 for me, please :-) although that was Wednesday and Thursday. Today has been the spendiest day ever. I can't even begin to think about how much... But I am getting a new roof (urgently needed, the old one struggled last winter and probably wouldn't make it through this one) and we decided to have a loft conversion at the same time. In for a penny, in for £17k... Am counting it as all spent today (drew down from mortgage and it's in my spare current account so I can write cheques to the builder, scaffolded, skip man, architect, building control, chippy, decorator, carpet fitter, etc etc etc.)
Going away to lie down in a darkened room and hyperventilate.
Ohhh, now that sounds exciting, well it makes sense to do the loft at the same time as the roof....ohh and just think of the fun you'll have decorating - I feel a group trip coming onbowlofsoup wrote: »If you have a chinese supermarket near you, you can buy plastic takeawy lidded dishes for a FRACTION of the cost in a normal supermarkrt - I got 25 - yes 25 for £2.40 last time we were there - think that's about 1/2 what tatco sells 'em for - AND the lids don't crack

I use the tubs when we have takeaway - so sort of MSE..kinda
Well at last! I have nabbed NSD #3 - thought I'd never get the little blighter. Off to do a little grocery top up tomorrow (fresh stuff and the like) but hopefully put some more coupons to good use - not got any for kippers yet though SpoonyThis month is deff working out harder than usual. Did I mention though I managed to nab one of the elusive cheap electrical items in Mr T last night (yes I was SUPPOSED to only be taking stuff back) ...but £2.86 for a hairdryer...I'd be mad not to...unless I was bald...which I'm not

Oh, aren't you lot lovely! A decorating party sounds great! They are starting Monday morning, and of course the weather is foul. Builder reckons 3 weeks - 1 to do the roof and 2 to do the rest. I will post photos...
Am aiming for a spend free weekend, although am going to a wedding Sunday it's just the evening do and I'm driving, so am hoping to be cheeky and get others to fund my lime and soda (yes, I'm a cheap date!). Present and card all sorted, so I might just get away with it.0 -

Don't be scared of the trouts, so long as you're not trying to 'diddle' the system and you have purchased the items your coupons are for then you have every right to use them. I must admit I do still get a bit shaky when I hand a lot over but if they really start kicking up a fuss, I am perfectly prepared to leave my shopping or dig out the item in question and ask them to void it. Of course, I wouldn't suggest bulk buying 'free' items like some do (aka Shreddiegate) as although it's within the t&c I really don't think it does anyone any favours in the long run.
My other tip is, just because you have a coupon, doesn't mean you have to buy it. If it's for something you aren't going to use, or you could get an equally decent own brand item cheaper, you're not saving anything overall.
Oh and when faced with a trout, just remember to smile nicelyFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I'm going to try for the ultimate goal and have a no spend weekend!!! GAH! It will be mega hard as I have a train journey to the midlands and back and my nieces birthday but present is already paid for, trains already paid for etc so if I can avoid buying anything for the train I should be able to do it.
