NSD's 1 & 2 for me, please :-) although that was Wednesday and Thursday. Today has been the spendiest day ever. I can't even begin to think about how much... But I am getting a new roof (urgently needed, the old one struggled last winter and probably wouldn't make it through this one) and we decided to have a loft conversion at the same time. In for a penny, in for £17k... Am counting it as all spent today (drew down from mortgage and it's in my spare current account so I can write cheques to the builder, scaffolded, skip man, architect, building control, chippy, decorator, carpet fitter, etc etc etc.)

Going away to lie down in a darkened room and hyperventilate.

  • Hi Folks
5 nsd's so far - Going to MIL's in big city tomorrow so Sunday wil most certainly NOT be an NSD - howver good tip - If you have a chinese supermarket near you, you can buy plastic takeawy lidded dishes for a FRACTION of the cost in a normal supermarkrt - I got 25 - yes 25 for £2.40 last time we were there - think that's about 1/2 what tatco sells 'em for - AND the lids don't crack

  • I've managed nsd no.1 at least......

I'm considering trying for four-in-a-row now....

    Have a great weekend!

Ps I've just had a senior moment:I transfer savings into my current account once a month as often I have a large dd that gets payed off before I get paid. This month, since payday,I've had a lot of money in my account, much more than usual and I couldn't work out how this was so.I've just realised that my savings are still sitting in my current account.Anyway,I've now transferred them back and now look forward to some belt-tightening for the rest of the month.....:o

Thanks for the welcome back spoon!

    NSD no 5 today :j

I am actually in profit as we sold our old estate! A bit sad to see it go (sort of), but excited about picking up our "new" car tomorrow.
That's if the insurance cover note arrives in the post.:o We need it as we need to pay the road tax before I can drive it away, so fingers crossed! Otherwise I will have to wait until Monday or even Tuesday next week

Still will be a spendy day tomorrow though, as we are running low on a few things food-wise. Also getting some nice meat from the butchers for tea. It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow, and we usually go out for a meal, but as DH is giving a talk in the evening, we are having a meal before he goes out. This will also save us quite a few pennies, so pretty MSE! :money: I made him a card today, and have a couple of silly pressies for him...so money saved all round!!
    :T

Right off to catch up elsewhere in MSE-land.

    Have a great everyone x
