Tesco Overpriced Policy DTD

Options
I have a question about the Tesco Overpriced Policy for double the difference. If you purchase an item from one Tesco and find it cheaper in another Tesco, should they honour the DTD?

Thanks

  • No ...

    You didn't ask, did you?
  • I did ask but they refused. I spoke to customer services earlier they said the store should acknowledge it. It would be good customer service.

The two stores in question are only 6 miles apart and the difference in the price is over £140!

    Tesco don't have uniform pricing.

Express, Filling Station and Extras often have different pricing to normal stores for a start.
    British Ex-pat in British Columbia!
  • I will return it - but according to their policy if I get DTD then it would work out cheaper!!

But you haven't been overcharged, you happily paid the advertised price.

they didn't say they were overcharged, there is a price difference policy and the stores if the are the same type *should* provide double the difference as per policy... a refund of the amounts being mentioned shouldn't be sniffed at tbh

Wasn't double the difference stopped anyway?

And it was double the difference if you find the price cheaper at a rival store, not another Tesco store

Now I never shop in Tesco so my knowledge of DTD is from MSE but I'd be absolutely amazed if Tesco had a policy guaranteeing prices were the same across stores.

I thought the whole point of DTD is when you're charged a higher amount than the advertised (SEL) price in that store. So the OP saying DTD applies is claiming they were overcharged.
  • Just called Tesco Customer services. According to their company policy all stores have independent prices! This is crazy! Does this comply with consumer rights?
