Blue Badge Parking - HELP!

Somehow after we went shopping the other day my elderly mother's blue badge got lost or misplaced, she always keeps it in the same place but it is no longer there and she cannot remember what she has done with it
How do i go about getting another one for her?0 -
I take my father to the local pub and collect him, therefore for part of the journey do not have him with me.
This is totally acceptable under the rules of the BB. I am providing a 'sort of' free taxi service for him as I am a nominated driver for this Motability car.
I am not driving to/from work, going shopping for myself etc, I am doing this for the disabled person, this is not acceptable when doing HIS shopping either as he wouldn't be with me. You have to have the disabled person with you when using the badge.
The number on the badge must be shown through the windscreen as well, which we didn't realise until a traffic warden told us, we always thought the photo should be shown. Otherwise you are libel for a ticket.
You can report misuse of the BB to your local council, the number should be on their website, just quote the number on their badge.
Hope this helps.0 -
Zziggi - on the face of it , yes I think you would be eligible. Ring your council for an application form and get your doctor to fill in the gp part. I am taking it as read that it'll be either for you as a driver or for someone who you wish to elect as your driver. Have you also applied for DLA - on the basis of what your gp has written, it indicates you would be eligible for at least a mobility component of the benefitIntegrity is a dying art!:p0

Hi newleaf
I think I'm probably of your mother's generation and I think it's misleading to label a whole swathe of people as 'the generation raised to accord unconditional respect to doctors and the like'. We're not all like that! I am firmly of the opinion that 'if you don't ask, you don't get'. DH and I don't care a damn what people think of us, we think we've lived long enough to ask for what we need and insist if we don't get it - we wouldn't be bothered about 'what Dr so-and-so thinks about it'.
I get a bit annoyed about all of us being stereotyped like this. You wouldn't like your generation stereotyped, would you? You'd say 'we're all different'. Well, so are we.
I've no idea why your Mum should be 'frightened to death' of one particular GP. If I had a GP I didn't like/was frightened of, I'd go to another one. But it's really her problem, isn't it - you can see the solution to the problem so clearly, can't you, but she is the one suffering the effects. Unfortunately there are some people who just won't be helped, and it's nothing to do with their 'generation'.

How far distance wise has the disabled badger holder got to be capable of walking before stopping?0
