It is really chilly here too! It has been raining heavily all evening. No heating on though, got a thick cardi on and fleecy jammy bottoms on and the candles lit and it feels really cosy, just how I like itRaven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0

trying my hardest to keep cosy, its not cold, cold but there's defintiely a nip in the air tonight.
Socks- fluffy ones have felt good and helped this eve, as well as having this laptop on my knees!, cheaper than putting on the heating.
steering clear from the throws- saving them til it gets cooler.
will seek out the light wieght mitts for the school run tomorrow though, as even though a certain person refused to wear a coat and even wanted to take off school jumper, still complained than her hands were cold!!!!!!!!!0 -
:rotfl:I know I'm in the south, but it's wind and rainy here, but I still wouldn't say I was cold. I'm sitting in a vest t shirt...and summer trousers.
Be strong peeps!0 -

I'm in the North East too, Haven't been in long and it was quite nippy outside but warmer now I am indoors and will soon be under the duvet...
About to have chicken salad and chips and may have a hot mug of coffee which will warm me up..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

No central heating to put on here ( we have electric heaters and a gas fire but not putting any of those on until absolutely necessary) so in bed watching Friends on the laptop and continuing my crochet project. I am making a cat blanket for our tabby cat as our other cat has claimed both fleece blankets for herself, little b*gger. The tabby cat is currently curled up on the bed next to me
.
Have got as far and putting insulation film on the bedroom window in a bid to keep any draughts out, today.0 -
My vinyl flooring looks like wooden floor boards and they do loads of different kinds of wood, the more expensive ones look amazing in darker wood - mines pine. Its been down for 7 years and still looks amazingly good and thats with lots and lots of traffic going through and a muddy grass strip between the car and the house.
Fleece is also great as cot sheets, they stay in place well even with a wriggly baby, are warm and snug and dry really fast when you wash them. I tuck a fleece blankie in the bottom of OH's bed for him to slide his feet under and that works well. I use fleece for everything and have just been looking at DGS's old cot fleeces that we used when he stayed here and they look like new so am planning on making a layered small quilt with them to use up an old light weight quilt which will fit on his bed at home over his duvet as a sort of comforter.
Just been outside and its icy out there so am off to bed to sulk :rotfl::rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light

I will get my caravan0 -
Last night I was freezing in bed despite having a 13.5 tog duck feather and down duvet. I was in town yesterdy and spotted a Fogarty duvet which was a second reduced to £3.95 for a double. It's a summer one so only 4.5 tog but thrown over my other one makes me as warm as toast. Bargain!0

In the past I have been criticised for being in bed at times people are usually up but as long as you are not depressed, what's wrong wit being in bed where it is warm and cosy.
Perhaps watching tv, listening to the radio, reading a book etc...if it saves on using the CH and saving money...Ideally it shouldn't be like this...but it is for many. I suspect more will be soon joining us...
As I walked around the town centre of neighbouring town(approx 10pm)amazing how many "Pubs" were already closed. One was open saying they are open until 2am(and it was empty)hardly anyone about. Six on the bus back to my town.
Hardly anyone up as I walked home from the bus stop, most homes in darkness or bedrooms lit already and it wasn't even 11pm. This shows that people haven't the money to go out, businesses are suffering, the money isn't there...
I've never known it be so quiet, even the takeaways are empty and some closing early."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson
