Nokia Repair Centre issues - what can I do?

Hi All,
Just needed a bit of advice - basically, I had a fault with a rather expensive Nokia Mobile Phone, whereby it failed to turn on suddenly a couple of days after buying it.
Being under manufacterers warranty, I booked it in for repair at my local Nokia repair centre. They said that they will turn it around in 48 hours (10 days if it needs to be sent to Nokia) which seemed reasonable.
20 days passed and no reply, so I chased. I got a reply saying still with Nokia. I patentially waited but called every 2 weeks for another 2 months and was told it got lost in transit so Nokia sending a replacement. Fine i thought and waited again. A week later I chased again and was told phone has arrived (I was shown it) but its not on the right network and needs unlocking. I asked how long it will take to do this and they said a week.
I waited another 2 weeks and called back and I'm still told that my phone still needs unlocking.
I think I've been really patient to wait nearly 3 months for a 10 day repair, but now I'm starting to lose my cool. I demanded a new phone and they said that they cant authorise it, i'd have to speak to the owner of the repair centre who is suprisingly never in.
Everytime I speak to them i feel like another week is being added. Can anyone tell me what I can do to resolve this?
Nokia have shut their door on me and said to liase with the repair centre. The repair centre is being rather unhelpful.
Any help or advice appreciated.

Where did you buy the phone from?
If it was directly from Nokia, you should write and inform then that you don't consider that the phone was of satisfactory quality or durability at the time of purchase and as such you wish to invoke your rights under the Sale of goods act and require either a full refund or a new replacment phone.
If you purchased elsewhere then there's not really much that you can do at present as the Nokia warranty is something that is offered in addition to your statutory rights (these rights are between the customer and retailer and not the manufacturer).0
