Yes - applied late August, my actual switch date is 2nd Oct, can't wait!! Just gave them my readings.
I'm in Eastern region, was with Scottish Power (capped deal, expired 31 Aug) who then wanted a 15% increase.
Did my sums using actual annual usage in Excel - OVO's prices today (fixed for a year) work out >£200 cheaper .... whilst I don't like standing charges, OVO's are the cheapest of all suppliers, and they promise simple one-rate billing PLUS 3% interest (paid monthly) on on_line bills - that's a better return than ad-hoc savings accounts!
Until proved otherwise (and I do do my homework) they are the best deal around for my region and usage, and if they live up to their promise, will continue to be the lowest priced supplier.
And, to date, their cutomer service has been exemplary (90 seconds wait for existing customer on the FREEFONE line).
Only downside I see is that those who DON'T like on_line billing are charged £5 a quarter for paper bills, plus of course it's most effective with monthly user input meter readings - small inconveniences for a large saving.
Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.0 -
After fighting Bgas to get my DDM down to £100 PCM when we only used anywhere near that for 5 months, and having to request a £200 refund last month, bringing our balance to nil, and already we will be owed £50 I just want a firm who understands english and maths....
Bgas wanted £195 PCM!0 -

Looking good so far. They keep you informed as you go, and all happens as promised. No big issues so far
Minor issues experienced so far are:
1. their call centre is only open Mon-Fri normal office hours ... but it is an 0800 number
2. I decided to change my monthly DD date - they offer 2 different ones, and I wanted the other one. No fuss, no bother, all went well
(As I said only minor issues .. very minor!)
One issue to resolve is I still need to discover how to access my online accounts - no id or password yet. I was going to phone them but haven't got round to it yet. Anyone know?
(Have tried inputting my account number & requesting the password, but it says it can't find the account linked to that id ... so it looks like I need both id and password set-up)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

I switched in August and no major problems so far.
For some reason the online account number is different from your "normal" account number and you have to request it - that's been my only "bug-bear" as I think they should automatically send this once your account is set up. However, I did get it fairly quickly one I asked for it.
I also like that you can submit your readings monthly without it generating a new bill (which is what happened with SP and they then tried to change my dd every time!)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
I was with OVO a year ago but sadly they are no longer the cheapest for me, not by a long way. I did like their easy to read bills though. And the fact that they adjusted the DD for winter and then lower again for summer which made a lot of sense to me. The other companies could learn a lot from them.0

I am on economy 7 with Ovo in the West Mids. Switched from Co-Op last month and now they are putting their prices up I know I made the right decision. Co-Op's night time rate has gone up by 30% and day time rate by 5%; as my night usage is always 75% my bill would have gone from £614 to £755 per year. Ovo are now showing as my cheapest provider and the price is fixed for 12 months.
Ovo very good so far. They changed my direct debit date from the 15th to the 1st at my request. I did have to call in to to get my online access username and password, but that was emailed through in minutes.
So far I'm impressed! :T0 -
well i had an email at 9pm last night from britishgas informing me that my (more than adequate) direct debit needed to go up 25%
sadly they were not at home when i rang today but i cant wait for tomorrow.............0 -
Hmmm, OVO have got me puzzled now. I wanted to submit my first meter reading, so logged on to my account and chose 'Submit a meter reading'. It then says 'No reading required, reading already submitted for today'???
What's that all about? Do you perhaps have to submit a reading before a certain time, or not at weekends?Stompa0 -
