Looking for best place to get logs in or around Bristol. Was thinking of getting them delivered so suppose it doesn't need to be that near Bristol if there's a national chain or something??? New to this multi fuel stove stuff so any help would be gratefully received. Going to build a log store (not very large) and putting it against the house, do I need to put a plastic sheet or anything between the wood and the house (I dont want to get damp or anything in the house! Help!

You can make a log store out of pallets etc, I did in an afternoon, was easy. I put some waterproof membrane that was lying around under the roof then slated over it as you see here. I started building a coal store last night, and hope to complete it this night and it's completely clad in slate. Will host up a pic later if I can.
Check gumtree for local stockists which will no doubt be more reasonable than large chains!0 -
That looks a lovely job there
Mine Are in an old tin shed, not pretty but does the job
Post the pics of the coal store when built??0 -
Thanks Suki, Yes, of course I will, either tonight or over the weekend. Mine above was like below before but Dad had some spare slates so thought it'd finish it off! The coal will be slate all over and weatherproofed from inside. in theory anyway!0

Daisy,
I can't remember the name of the place but I got some for a good price last year from one of the smallholdings in Stapleton on the B4058 (between the turning for UWE and the Snuff Mills Harvester).
Just look for the Logs for Sale sign on one of the gates. They do collection or delivery.0 -
You are like us there - we must be the only house in the country that has a tiled bird house and dog kennel lol
We try not to waste anything here and salvage and re use where possible
We just has a new patio laid this year, the decking was bought from us for 50 quid ( and it was HUGE) and he dismantled it and rebuilt it in his garden and the slabs were also bought and taken away and are now being re used on patios where they were good enough and hardcore where not.
The pallets I had with my new supplies are drying nicely ready to be cut into kindling0 -
Defo. all off cuts I don't use will be kindling!0
