    Happy birthday Master Bitsy
Uolypool - glad you DS said no! I got engaged at 18 to my then BF cos I was going away to uni, and therefore missed out on some of the proper uni experience! I don't regret it as was happy at time, but kinda wish I hadn't especially after he turned out to be not so nice in the end!

    Beautiful day here :)

This morning me and 2 colleagues went to Rhondda in the Valleys for a meeting, took an hour to drive but I took Bruce and it was a nice spin :) fantastic scenery up there. This afternoon I showed new colleague/schoolfriend all the ins and outs of work. Army man popped in to say bye as he is going back to his regiment on Sunday, he bought me a bottle of champers and box of chocs to say thanks for everything :D.

Schoolfriend came back home with me and us and flatmate have had a good old gossip so far and are going to go out for a curry in a bit, but back in time for Strictly :j

    Have a good night all

    Evening all,

Have not had any of your summer weather here....been windy if sunny all week and been lashing rain all afternoon and evening. So no need to take out summer clothes or just eat salads...although its more or less all I've had to-day, just felt like it as we have so much salady stuff in garden...love not to need to buy that stuff, more variety with home grown too.

OH and I went to a funeral this morning, elderly man who has been battling cancer for years. Met lots of people I have known since childhood, my chatting after a funeral drives OH nuts...he walked to the cemetery and then I couldn't find him for a while, but he never goes missing for very long. Sadly, saw the graves of many schoolmates too, amazing how many of my age have gone on ahead...counted my blessings.

DB has been in Cork for a few days and brought me back some herring....I love them and it is almost impossible to find them in fish shops...not sure if I will have them for breakfast or pickle them for later treats...got some dried salted ling in English market last week so will have that for dinner some day soon with boiled onions and bechemel sauce...need to soak it for 48 hours first so need to be organised.

Nothing of note in OS department to-day, didn't even empty DW....think that its been proven that its cheaper to use DW than wash up by hand to those trying to cut down on electricity use....am horrified at the amount some of you are paying for your power....we do have about €30 per month allowance towards electricity since OH turned 70, only pay about €50 per month and am way in credit at present....like to have some credit up before winter comes in. There are only 2 of us here so suppose that's some of the reason its low, although OH has tv on from the time he gets up!

Uolypool, so glad that things are straightened out with DD, there will probably be a glitch or two along the way, but congratulations for the way you handled the whole strop, well done you!

Taking Kerry to the vet in the morning as she has had 2 'fits' for want of a better word in last week...she seems in fine form afterwards but would like to be sure she is ok, especially as she is still so thin, in spite of eating well.

Hugs to all in need or want of one, welcome to any newbies I have missed, stay safe and sleep well.
