I have been on medication....20mg Citalopram, 2mg Diazepam, 5mg Zolpidem since my cancer diagnosis in 2004....this is due to the severe side effects/mentally....that the diagnosis, surgery, treatment etc., caused.
I also take Co-codamol daily due to joint and knee pain.
Would I be/am I entitled to any benefits due to my illnesses?

Are you fit for work? Do you have care or mobility needs?0

Don't know about the others, but 20mg Citalopram is the mildest dose, it's what I moved down to, although I am going to have to get it upped again. So if you're on a low dose, I can't imagine your problems would be bad enough to pass a medical assessment. Just MHO.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0

I do not have any care or mobility needs....though I have restricted movement in my left arm due to a lifting accident several years ago when I nearly lost my arm.....also as this arm is the same side as my cancer it is also been weakened again my lymph node removal.....hence the threat of lymphodema if lifting too much too.
I don't cope with going to strange places and meeting I don't know very well...and usually have to take extra medication to help in those situations0 -
Doesn't sound like you'd get any DLA, if you can medicate to alleviate the symptoms then you're expected to do that.0

I would agree with the others - your current problems appear to be well managed (and that is very positive), so would not qualify for additional assistance.0

Probably best not to listen to gossip about other people? A claimant would not get past the thirteen week medical if they were claiming solely for being 'heartbroken'.0 -

then that comes under the title of 'mental health' issues. and they are very real problems with multiplue implications.
regardless of your medical conditions and the nedication you take, you are obviously fit to work, because you already manage to!
2 people with exactly the same diagnosis can have completely different needs. sickness and disability benefits are paid for the effects the condition has on the individuals life and not on the diagnosis.0
