What is the top toy for an 11yr old this year

Hi, I have got 2 boys, 10 and 12. The 10yo really really really wants a netbook, would be happy with nothing else if he got a netbook. Oh the dilemmas of being a parent nowadays. Tesco have got £50 off netbooks and laptops this weekend and I have got some Clubcard vouchers so we will have to make a decision.
Other than that he would like a cricket helmet, some headphones and a Nerf Gun. He already has a couple of Nerf guns but he loves them and they are good fun. I thought about a new footie shirt but £35! - you have got to be kidding.
I am also thinking of things like an I-Tunes voucher, small lego sets, a new rucksack for footie training, books and maybe one of those XBox points vouchers so he can download some mini games.
My 12yo hasnt got a clue what he wants!0 -
We bought the super soaker nerf gun in tesco the other day reduced from £20 (for a bit of plastic OMG:eek:) to £1, actually I bought when I realised they were just £1 the whole 7 that were left there so that he has some for his birthdays presents etc throughout the year and at a £1 that I paid for them it is a fab present also got him today via tesco a £1.49p reduced, never thought of meccano but here is the link0

We never had much luck getting Meccano to stay together once it was made, its not like it used to be! There I go sounding old. Mind you for that price ....
Oh and thanks for the tips about the books. Going to have a look at that one. And Nerf guns, yes some are expensive but they are fairly robust. Wouldnt pay silly money though, what a bargain you got with the super soaker!
DS has just said something about paper jamz, apparently his friend has one. They are on offer at Amazon at the moment I think.0 -
MandM Direct have got some nice Bench hoodies for under £15 if anyone is wanting clothing. My boys are too small for Superdry and Topman.0
