I hardly think work experience within an organisation such as McDonalds is hardly appropriate for someone with a completely different skillset & certainly isn't going to assist this person into more suitable employment.
Good night gentlemen
Surely any work is better than none in two years?0 -

There are many aspects of employment which are transferable across a very wide range of employment types. Timekeeping, interpersonal skills, motivation, etc etc etc. If you've ever watched those "Undercover Boss" type programmes, the benefits of experiencing a more "menial" form of employment are very obvious. And it beats doing nothing!!!

No job is below anybody, when they have been out of work for so long. I know if I could handle going back to work right now, I would take any job going. Beggars can not be chooses in this economic climate, and as they say it is easier to gain employment when you already have a job.0

if their work programme adviser feels they need to do a work placement then they can make them do one. i believe placements last a maximum of 8 weeks. if they are getting the p**s taken out of them by being sent somewhere they dont want to go to be exploited then they can just take the p**s right back and fake incompetence but obviously dont be too obvious. then when it ends and they see their adviser again they can act all disapointed that they didnt get offered a job.0
