Agree with you, my wife has a BMW ragtop, which I find cheaply (albeit quite solidly made) but totally uninspiring apart from the straight 6 rasp, the best car I ever had was an MG ZTT (bought after they went bust) it was fantastic, the only part with any issues being the engine - yes a BMW sourced diesel!
