Gearbox problem/ New Warranty?

Just bought a car privately 2 weeks back and got cover for it a week after purchasing with warranty direct (the gold cover).

According to the contract I can't claim on existing faults (which was not there at the time of sale) and nor can I claim for wear and tear unless after 3 months.

The car is still driveable but just shudders when crawling.
Its an Audi a4 multitronic gearbox and I believe its very costly to replace them.

How do I go about getting this fixed through the warranty?

Thanks

  • The joys of them crtap CVT boxes!

I think they still cost about £1500 to fix.

We stopped buying them about 4 years ago as they were horrendous.

Cant see the warranty company fixing this one as the fault will have been there for a while. When was the ATF last changed? Audi say every 40k as it flushes the box out.

Reject under SOGA would be advised then.

Missed that bit. It was the warranty that through me. Apologies to the op.
It's worth checking if the fault could have been hidden to make the car saleable though, even with a private sale there are still a few rules, though not as comprehensive as buying from a dealer.

Change the oil a few times and see if that help. Otherwise its dig deep into the pockets and punish yourself
for wasting money on hamster bedding (the useless warranty document).

  • Warrantydirect says after 3months it covers wear/tears. I would of thought this would be covered?

2nd audi gearbox problem on here in the last few days, could "german" technology not be as good as the hype makes as believe?

I've worked for most of them, they're all much of a muchness.
Most are a good as each other, their national image leads you to believe otherwise. Sadly, the british image is to rubbish themselves, and look up to everyone else normally.
