you'd be in exactly the same position on income based ESA as you are now!
youre receiving income support which is also income based, so one your savings go over 6k you'd start losing benefit.

No I wouldn't. If I had a £1,000,000 in the bank I would still get Incapacity benefit because it isn't means tested. ESA is means tested, so anything over £6,000 would reduce benefit and anything over £16,000 would stop the benefit completly.

Am I talking in riddles? I'ts not a difficult question.

Income based ESA not contribution based.
Yes, but you will transition onto ESA(C) and ESA(IR). Your IB rate will be your ESA(C) rate and your IS rate will be your ESA(IR) rate.

If you are not entitled to ESA(IR) then you are not entitled to IS either.

    You're not making much sense.

Thanks, there are several plots in our area for less than £10,000. Ebay is selling some decent caravans for £3,000-£4,000. so in total with planning costs + other fees we're still talking less than £16,000 which is the shut off point for IS and HB.

You said you wanted to live in the caravan until your old and gray. How old are you two now?

My thoughts exactly. If they are currently getting IB then they will get ESA contribution based although this only will last a year if in the WRAG.

Your post makes no sense to me. Sorry.

    I'm 40 and my partner is 36.
  • You honestly expect a caravan that costs £3,000-£4,000 will last you till your old and grey???

Don't know what you mean by that. I didn't follow your last post, could you write it without all the abbreviations please. Thank you

Perhaps not but they're not that expensive, we could always get an upgrade later on.
