Zone Labs blocking the Internet?

Hi
I recently went wireless, using Netgear router etc., and all has been well for a month or so.
All of a sudden, I amm finding that with Zone Labs switched on, the free version, I cannot access the Internet. I have tried both IE and Firefox, the latter being my main choice. The connection always times out. When I look at the alerts log, there are entries on there relating to svchost.exe and https://www.routerlogin.com, but these names do not appear on the blocked list?
Any ideas....please explain in full though, I am quite un-technical.
Thanks

I don't think that this problem is due to internet connection sharing. If you look at Zone Alarm, Firewall, Zones do you have an entry for your router with Internet Zone permission? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Hi....sorry for the delay....went for my tea!
Yes, there are a number of entries there, one for NVIDEA nforcem, with an IP address of all zero#s, and one for Netgear, with a more proper looking IP address?O would some power the giftie gie us to see ourselves as others see us.

Might be worth your while looking through https://www.techsupportalert.com, going to "best 46 freeware utilities" and checking out their firewall suggestions, and comments about zone alarm. Lots of other useful stuff there also, too much in fact! It's amazing what you can get for free.0

go onto zonealarm there is a padlock is that undone if not then that's locking the internet0

I thought Zone-alarm would not do networking. I could not get it to work with my wireless setup. So I use this:-
http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/
Its free and i have found no problems with it.

Zone Alarm works for me. Unfortunately I'm not at home at the moment so can;t check anything to advise you. If comodo works use that instead.
BTW, site rules are no links in sigs. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

I've been having the same problem. It works for a while then Zonealarm blocks my wireless access.
It can't acquire the IP address.
To get round this, I disable Zonealarm and go into Network connections in My Computer and retype the password and reboot. On reboot, Zonealarm starts up OK and away I go.
This happens at least 2 or 3 times a week. Very frustrating.........
I think I will look for an alternative firewall.0 -
Very strange, I've used zonealarm free on multiple pcs for years on a wireless network and never had a problem. Flexible friend, it sounds like you need to add your wireless card and router to your internet trusted zone in zonealarm."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Can I do that with the free version of Zone Alarm?0
