LIke you say Rich, Eon didn;t want your custom so they're probably best avoided for you anyway.

Eon do have a relatively harsh policy when it comes to removing prepayment meters - they just won't do it in many situations (even if the customer has a perfect credit history) - just because the customer is a tenant rather than a homeowner. They won;t evenm consider charging the customer a security deposit or getting them to pay for the cost of the meter change themselves. I consider it ripping the customer off.

I know this is not about removing a prepayment meter. But it's hardly surprising they have taken this line bearing in mind the above policy!

Oh dear. You sound very hard done by. No wonder you`re so annoyed as the World definitely owes you a favour.

Not only do you make a fool of yourself in the way you express yourself to the Eon representative, you then go onto an internet message board to give it a much wider audience.

An internet forum is all about opinions and my opinion is that you are a bit of a numpty from what I`ve heard so far.

Hmm, you post this reply for exactly what reason? - and you call the OP a bit of a numpty...

MInd you looking at your posting history, it seems that all you can do is give out unconstructive criticism!

I simply don`t understand why people come on here boasting about how rude they have been.

You tend to find that people are more likely to help you if you are pleasant to them.

The credit check seems to be at the heart of the problem and the OP seems to have a decent record according to him. I would suggest one of those enquires to find out whether the credit score is correct or if can be improved by taking certain action.

It's also perverse that Eon will only supply the OP on PP because of his financial risk. For that privilege he loses any payment discounts, making it more expensive for him. This is in spite of a cast iron guarantee of payment now.

The OP only joked that he had told them to stick it up their bum.

I also found it ironic that our friend Broxis took time out just to have a go at the OP for having a go (joke) at Eon.

I suspect they don't credit check you as there is insufficient information supplied to do this (well till recently when using switching websites, they didn't ask for DOB) such as address history.

Its more likely to be an 'industry database' or the companies 'list of addresses' that they don't like. A bit like Hotel Chocolat who reject "addresses where it has identified itself or through third parties that delivery problems have occurred previously" to stop theft of chocs.

I can't believe some people are getting at the OP for telling them to shove their offer. He indicates that what he wrote here was not exactly what he said. The point he was making is the fact that a lot of sales people will deliberately lie to get your custom and once you are signed up will deny it. It is very good advice for people to be wary when salespeople start their patter and try to get you to sign up for something you did not originally request.

Nope no internal databases, but certain companys departments do speak to combat theft and fraud.

They would of done a credit check, but cant see everything as they dont provide agencys information. I would move on, but the op does not seem to like many of the companys.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Oooh another question, if I had the £200 deposit that you would have for 12 months would I get the interest after the 12 months when I got it back?

    Hi Rich

No, afraid not. Interest is not paid when security deposits are refunded.

Ok so I do a quote online and I get:

25.5255 per kwh up to 900 then
    13.2195 per kwh after

Can't find any info on prepay unit price on your website at all just says to phone you. Funny how nearly all the suppliers hide their prepay unit costs on their websites. Apologies if i'm looking in the wrong place but I was looking at this page

    http://www.eonenergy.com/At-Home/Products/Products-Electricity-And-Gas/Electricity-Only/E.ON-EnergyPlan-with-Prepayment-elec.htm?WT.mc_id=E.ON_EnergyPlan_with_Prepayment&WT.svl=8

    What are the prepay fees?

I think after all this i'm better off sticking with the devil I know Npower might be awful but at least I expect that now

Sorry Rich, but you're looking in the wrong area. Prices for all our products, including prepayment, are listed in their own section of the website.

If you click on Products & Services, then Electricity and Gas Products and finally Prices & Discounts. Just pop in your Post Code, click 'Show Prices' and scroll down to E.ON Energy Plan with Prepayment.

Hope this points you in the right direction. Give me a shout if you need any more help.
