You didn't connect the printer before installing the drivers? If you did you'll have to uninstall the printer, disconnect and reload the software and only connect the printer and turn it on when prompted. I had the same problem with mine until I followed similar advice, Hope it works for you.

If you click start then run, type services.msc then press enter, wait a while for the services box, look for print spooler, is it started and set to automatic? If not, left click the print spooler entry, right click it then click properties, change the start up type to automatic, click apply, click to start the service, restart the PC
Did you print the test page from start, devices and printers, right clicking the printer, clicking printer properties, clicking print test page0 -
It's set as automatic
I did the test page via the printer it won't let me do it the way you suggest
It won't even let me unistal it now as saying still in use, think it's not got rid of a page i was trying to print which might be stuck in the queMummy to Lewis Born Aug 100 -
Go to devices and printers, right click the printer, look for print queue then click that, if anything is listed, left click it, click printer, click cancel all documents. If nothing shows in the print queue, restart the PC then try to uninstall it, if it still says in use, switch the printer off and remove the USB lead from the printer, restart the PC then try to uninstall.
If it still says in use, right click the taskbar, click task manager, click processes, left click any Dell entries, right click them then click end process and confirm
Run Windows Update, look for option updates, software, hardware etc, If there are any for the printer, then it is unlikely to have installed correctly. At this point you may as well see if the windows update software helps
Have you got .net framework 2.0 installed and updated?0 -

I would ask them here now
http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3528.aspx
Or choose technical support for a product I already own here, is says it covers their limited warranty, without saying what that is, so fill in the service tag etc and close the page if it mentions a fee

This is for the US one, they might answer it now
