Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
On the point about problems with films, are some of these previews initial rush copies. I remember watching Hollywoodland and remember that throughout the film the sound boom kept dropping into shot and things like that. Couldnt decide if pre edit verison or just crap!

    That's awful!!! How rubbish!!

Film studios usually do two different types of screening, the first one is a test screening, which they do on carefully selected audiences who give them feedback about the film, before they submit it for general release. They sometimes even go back and re shoot after test screenings if the audience reaction has been all wrong.
The screenings we always attend are to create a hype about a film a few days before its release, the intention being that we go and tell all our friends to go and watch it (who will pay), and also for the cinema to test the reel and make sure everything is fine with their copy.
It wouldn't be a pre edited version as they're usually a couple of days before opening night, maybe Hollywoodland was just an bad film!!! lol.

Have the free previews started to dry up?
Use your judgement, and above all, be honest with yourself. :)

    Looks that way Spikey!
  • I didn't know whether it was the previews drying up or the people posting them? I've posted two from go beyond screen lately, but usually I never get there quick enough to post them as someone always does it as soon as they come up.

    Does anyone know?

I think there have always been fewer screenings in the summer. Maybe they are just expecting more people to go to regular screenings as the weather is 'better'.

I've been waiting for ages to be able to get free cinema tickets - and this time:
1- this is a movie I would like to see very much
2- available in my town :j

but the one weekday of the month I am away and can't change my commitment ...

oh well I'll go see it on a before noon screening later on - but I feel so excited to get free stuff (and to save money too of course!)

Rant is over - thank you very much
    Enjoy the movie!

I've just heard that Impulse have pulled out of the screening for that French film next Tuesday. I wonder if the tickets are still valid...

Anyone know anything about this? I am due to go see this in Coventry next week..... don't really want to travel all over there if it isn't on anymore!
