Oops, pressed thanks instead of quote, what a silly bint I am lol :o .

Yes we were at Cheshire Oaks - back row, top of the stairs - best seats in the house (imo anyway).

So they had newpaper vouchers eh? Must admit, we were convinced a lot of people had got their tickets from Saga, or something similar, because we felt a bit on the young side. :rotfl:
Whaaaay, I thought I was the only MSE'r there :T:D

I was on the second row (on the stairs) sort of... on my own. :o

I thought the film was alright, not really my sort of thing - worth it for free though! :money:

Copied this from the ticket thread.......it is a shame that newbies feel the need to apologise before posting!

I was there too with my mum near the back to the left. Neither of us will see thirty again but I wouldn't describe myself as a possible SAGA type yet. There was a guy with his bare feet up on the chair in front of him. Lovely nail polish, are you an MSEer because you didn't look that old either.
Anyway, loved the film. Great story and very well acted. Home in time for cocoa and sanatogen.

:rotfl: We saw him too - his nail varnish was pink wasn't it? We were chuckling 'cos a woman behind him put her bare feet up too, looked to be right near his head. We were wondering if she had stinky feet and would he say something.

We're not yet SAGA age either, my friend and I are 41, and we had our teenage boys with us. We just noticed that a lot of people there seemed to be late 50's plus, and the film was set in the 70's, so that's why we thought maybe SAGA or something similar. :D

Yo, James Bond, it's nice to know there were fellow MSE'rs at Cheshire Oaks. I enjoyed the film - it was interesting but I prefer more exciting films. But like you say, it's worth it for free.
I reckon all us MSE'rs should wear a :money: badge next time so we can identify each other and say hello. Either that or do a secret  :D

Thanks for the link Oscar. :A

I agree with you too, about being a newbie. There has been so many trolls and spammers on here lately, that sadly every newbie is being tarred with the same brush, and a lot of people are scaring off the genuine posters.

Most of the folks on here are really lovely people, so stick with it. I appreciated your post and I'm sure that others will too.

Ahh missed that with the woman. Would have laughed at that:rotfl:

He must be MSE then, hope he not too offended by our chat on this.

Anybody else turned up today to see Surfs up - only to be told the film hadn't turned up !!?
Pretty disgusted with Odeon. No notice to tell people who turned up early - as the tickets told us to. Stood queuing for half an hour - having dragged myself and the kids out of bed early on Sunday morning. 10.30 and we were finally told the film hadn't arrived. The duty manager hadn't noticed apparently until 5 minutes before they were due to show the film

Someone suggested they put on another film instead - such as Shrek, but he refused.
Dozens of very annoyed parents and disappointed children.

First time this has ever happened to me, I hope it is the last.

    What Odeon was that?
  • Took the Family to see Surfs Up at Cardiff Odeon Atlantic Wharf

Thankfully the Film Did Arrive...and it was Superb !! ...we all enjoyed it !!

I would guess the Cinema was about 80% full ...a good show for 10:30 on a Sunday Morning.

A Big thanks to The MSE Poster Leecook1981 for this Film and to See Film First for the Opportunity to see it

What a Bummer for the people who turned up at the Screening where the Film did not arrive (where was this?) ...they could have put on an alternative as you suggested.

An E-Mail to Odeon Cinemas and See Film First seems to be in order.
