I get great pleasure when I see that someone has won a big prize with a holding of £20 or something.

So far it's never been me  :'(

I'm pretty sure that the winner for August only had £17 worth of bonds and won the million.
I check them on BBC1 on the text page 290 which always tells you the month and year they were bought, that is the person who wins the million, I think this person had had them a few years so you never know do you

I had the max amount of 30k in 0% interest money. When the rates were really low I thought it was worth the gamble. Now they have risen I, given my past performance, I would lose out. I know it is a gamble but I never won more than £50 x 2 in one month and sometimes won nothing. Most months I won £50.00 but the interest would be higher esp in Cahoot 5.65% which is where my money is now. Good luck to all Pre. bond holders. I have had 2 since 1957 - yes I am a dinosaur ;D but never, even in the early days, won a bean with these. You are backing an outsider but sometimes they come in....
