Have you got a million waiting for you?

According to a survey 23 million people throughout the Uk are
premium bond holders. every month a 1million pound winner is chosen.

400,000 prizes remain unclaimed totaling £23m.

Check out http://www.nsandi.com/ to see if you dont have £1m
tax free lumpsum waiting for you. if you dont have the internet give them a call on
0845 9645000 or write to them at Premium Bonds, NS&I, Blackpool FY3 9YP

You would claim a winning lottery ticket so why not claim whats yours

Best of luck Robert  ;)

  • I have won three times and I was holding only £600 .
I won £50 two months in a row when I was moving house and £1000 the week I put double Glazing in .

New bathroom  soon so you never know  ;) ;)
it could be me  ;D ;D
  • At the moment I am a Premium Bonds virgin, but that is going to change - when I no longer have a cc debt :).

I am thinking then of buying £100s worth each month, and very gradually :D building up to the max of £30k holdings. Does this sound sensible to other MoneySavers ???

As well as putting £100 towards PBs each month I was also thinking of saving elsewhere too, either in my ISA, ING or a non-Premium bond.

I want to be a good saver, but I find it difficult to control my temptation to spend :o .

    I owe £1,247 more than I have in savings :( .

    Leia,

Premium bonds can be viewed as a savings account just like any other - but more fun.

On average they pay out 2.15% of what you buy each year. Not quite as bad as it sounds as you get the money tax free.

Myself, I would go for the guaranteed win of a cash ISA (up to 5.5% tax free) but that is just personal preference.

Wouldn't you say, therefore that Premium Bonds are deliberate piece of 'confusion marketing'? A 'savings product' which pays a low rate of 'interest' [albeit 'tax free'] - which is even lower for the 99+% of 'investors' [punters] when taking account that not all prizes are of equal value [yet practically all of them are]

PBs were invented in the 1950s... I think that sums them up, really :(

How does it work out if you had £30,000 to invest straight away? Would the chances of winning a good return be fantastically high?
    Mr Lewis saved my life.
  • The results of september's draw can be found on Channel 4 Ceefax page 539.

This months £1 Million winner had a holding of £3,300 and a £50,000 winner from Brent in London had a holding of just £22, Wow!
    Waddle you do eh?
  • Generally would people feel that its worth investing the maximum (which is?) or go a more fixed interest return route....sort of feel like a gamble myself but the sensible route beckons too... ?

The maximum holding is now £30,000 [min holding £100 AFAIK] so that £50K winner had probably held their £22 of bonds for years...

I get great pleasure when I see that someone has won a big prize with a holding of £20 or something.

So far it's never been me :'(
