Does your Dyson hose now split faster than ever?

Dysons have always had a problem with the hoses splitting. Recently however we find ours last a fraction of the time that they used to. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.
We have pets so we use our vacuum cleaner every day. Our hoses used to last approximately 2 years before splitting. However recently they have been lasting just 1-3 months. The problem is consistent - Dyson send us a replacement only to have the same thing happen again with the replacement, and again, and again, and again...
It's gone again today.
Ours is a DC-04. Before you say "It's failing because it's old", the hoses aren't old - they are the newest part of the machine. And Dyson gave it a full service recently. We treat the hose with kid gloves.
Before you say "You are treating it badly" (and ignoring the fact that we don't), if that were true then the hoses would always have failed after such a short period. After years, the hoses suddenly last approximately one-tenth as long.
I suspect that the manufacturer that makes the hose has changed the plastic used or that there has been some other change.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Your hoses may last longer than ours as we have pets and therefore use our Dyson every day - but you will still have noticed that your Dyson hoses break far faster than they used to.
Thanks.

Various bits have fallen off or broken off or simply gone missing but the hose is still in one piece.

M y DC02 is 20 years old. I use it daily and have had one replacement hose in that time ( 3 years ago ). The very old Dysons do seem to be better built and more hard wearing, even the Dyson repair man who serviced mine admitted as much to me.0

I've had mine for nearly 6 years, used daily (due to cat and dog) and never had any bits replaced on it. Not sure what I would do different to yourself, I am always pulling the end off to get in the corners (obsessed with fleas so hoover all the edges, lol). My sister also has one and got hers a few years after me, again she has a dog and its used daily and she has never had anything break either.0

Thanks for the replies. I am confused as I don't see where our sudden problem has come from. It started just after it was serviced (by Dyson) but I don't see how that could cause new hoses to split repeatedly.0

They were sold on the quality of a British built unit.
He sacked all his British manufacturing employees and has them made for a fraction of the cost in the far east.
How on earth can you expect quality ?
Just have a drive round and find a skip, you would be very unfortunate not to find one with a Dyson vac in it. Take the hose.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Correct vax 20002 Think they are made in China now i know it's a far east country. Dyson's use to be the vac to have but now it's all cheap and cheerful.
I have a dc07 had trouble with the hose it tries to retract back in the housing so your always fighting with it. And today it has lost all suction from the main cleaning head. I've had enough now and have crossed Dyson off my list they are just to shabby and cheap in my opinion. I have to laugh because when i was looking to find if it was something simple blocking it or whatever i looked up and there on the handle it proudly states no loss of suction.Ours is just under 4 years old still under guarantee but whats the point of ringing them up when the product is naff anyway we will just have problems further down the line.
Can anyone recommend a decent vacuum cleaner whilst I'm out tomorrow. Decided to cut my losses and go for another brand. Cleaning is hard enough without making it even harder0 -
Hose on DC33 under a year old just split today, Dyson are sending a new one. Seems the plastic has dosed as it's possible to push a finger through in many places remarkably easily.0

buying a dyson was the worse thing i ever did. ok, i admit it was a lot of years ago, when they first became popular and its been rubbish since the day i got it. my daughter had the same model and hers was the same. pipes splitting, suction giving out completely, everything on it breaking. the mr fixit has been to sort them more times than i can remember. Now, after a long long time, i have finally ditched the dyson and got a much better vacuum cleaner. and at a fraction of the price. the first time i vacuumed my carpet with the new cleaner, i was ashamed at what was in the hoover off of my floor. i would never recommend a dyson to anyone.0
