Dee - absolutely great news, glad your kitty will be ok.

As Humprey said above, pls think about insurance for your furries, from your post I think you got about 5 of them?

  • Just though I'd give you an update on patch, she's had her jaws wired and is having to be feed through a tube, I am going later on to pick her up but it's all a bit scarry as I am worried about feeding her through the tube, also I have got to take her back in3 4 days to be checked and as I am working 9 to 6 until friday and then 6.15 to 3 15 saturday and they don't open weekends I don't know how I am going to do it

Dee, good that kiddy is on the mend, that is the main thing.

I guess you have no other choice but to take time off work or ask some family member to take Patch in for check ups?

Talk to CH, perhaps they could see Patch out of hours? They always have a vert there, even when they are closed - for emergency calls. Perhaps they could accomodate you in different hours?

Aside from taking her for check ups? Who is going to feed her while you are at work all day? Whoever it is, needs to go with you to CH to be shown how to do it proberly without chocking the cat - when you pick her up later today.

You could perhaps see if they'll let you drop her in before work, the vet can look at her in the day, and maybe a nurse might be on-site to let you collect her in the evening? My vet has someone manning the surgery 24/7 (they have a flat above for nurses) and I've often popped in outside opening hours - e.g. I start work early so if a pet needed an operation and was scheduled for the morning, I would drop it off the evening before and they kindly keep it in overnight with no extra charge (these are small furries though so I provide a cage) to save me trying to rush in before work.
  • Hi
Thanks for your replies Patch is doing great I am feeding her myself I have been shown how to do it, Bless her it is as if she knows that I am helping her she just sits on my lap while I do her feeds and meds, I do it befor I go to work, I pop home in my lunch hour and then Feed her when I get home and the I give her a smaller amount just befor I go to bed.

She needed her dressing changed but because I could not get over to Canning town I did get my original vet to do it for me as I could get there after work her dressings need changing every 3 to 4 days.

I am having to call CH on monday about taking her for a check up on monday but the vet who did the op is know bassed at the Lewisham Centre :eek:so it is going to mean a trek across london, I do drive but am not confident when in an strange land(never been south of the river) thanks again for your kind thoughts

Dee - good to know Patch is getting better :)

Why cant you see another vet at Canning Town for a check up? I am sure nobody expects you to see the same vet who has done the op and expect you to travel to Lewisham? They have many vets at Canning Town where Patch can be checked over...

    All the best
