  • Ahh yes, The well known Wanstead Hilton! I am afraid this company are notorious for their prices, and for squeezing every penny out of an owner once the cat is in their care.
I really hope that Celia Hammond were able to help out at a more reasonable cost.

Got to be honest Wanstead take the pee I remember them charging me £350 to take a grass seed out of my dogs ear!

Hope your cat is ok, if it was my cat I would pay for it.. maybe pay a large amount and pay the rest in smaller installments if they let you. Unless you have got help from Celia Hammond

I hope your cat is ok xx
  • Waiting for an update - hope the kitty is ok?

Dee, so glad you are getting your cat sorted...... at CH

What exactly is Goddards Wanstead charging 700 for?

  • I'm so happy for you op. Had a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye when I saw she's getting sorted. Fellow train users now think I am crazy. I went through the same kind of heartbreak before my wee boy's epilepsy was diagnosed, not knowing what it might cost. People are so fast to say it's just an animal, put it down, but so glad you'be been able to find a more affordable solution :j
  • hi everyone an update on patch, I picked her up from wansted hilton where I no doubt she had the best of care, but i think it seemed very buisness like , I took her to Celia Hammond in Canning town, well what a difference people who seemded to realy care for the animals and not the profits.

Bless her patch looked a bit like a rex cat as all round her shoulders and neck had been shaved, but once we got her out of the box she was wrapping her self arounld us and the vet I said to the vet"how can you put a cat down like that"

The vet was so lovely and I truely felt they where there for the animals.

Patch has had a jaw done, she will be kept there for the weekend,
then she will come home, but she will have to go back for more tratment.

Once again I thank you all for your suport and I know that in future i will sponser the Celia Hammond animal trust and I hope you will too we need more People like this.

  • Brilliant news. I have been thinking about you for the last couple of days. It has motivated me to get pet insurance. I found some for only £130 a year (for the age of cat and comprehensive cover that I was interested in). Very well done.

It would be better to put the money towards pet insurance so you don't have the same problems again. If you can afford both great, but prioritise the insurance, I'm sure any charity that helps with vet bills would say the same.

    Great news about your cat!
