work programme and pre-booked holiday

  • Whilst I do agree, the OP claims to be unable to make a journey of little over an hour. If he was staying local for his holiday, then he would be able to attend his appt.

Quick check, the holiday is overseas ...

Um hello? That was posted in January over 7 months ago! Do you now how variable CFS is? Do you know anything about CFS or chronic conditions?

Also FYI i live very close to Gatwick, very close. So we paid extra to get our flight from there and it works out a lot less in journey time then it took to get to ATOS and i will probably sleep on the plane. Funny what a little forethought and planning can do, people with chronic conditions can still do things their just taught by occupational therapists how to make adjustments to make it more manageable.

This is basically seeing red (or green) at the idea of someone on ESA getting a holiday and then you've wasted your time stumbling through my posts to find something utterly outdated to the situation so you can unleash some vitriol about people on benefits going on holidays.

Well i'm not interested anymore i saw my adviser today and the issues resolved. But it seems a few of you have a lot of time on your hands so feel free to keep scrambling through my old posts. Nothing better to do apparently.
Hi, I am on ESA and on the work programme at the moment.

I only have to see my WP advisor once a month so I wouldn't think that a holiday would make too much difference and wouldn't worry too much. The work programme is different for claimants on ESA than on JSA so just go and see how your provider works and take it from there.

Hope this helps a little and good luck today.

Yes that was all confirmed to the letter by my adviser today. Unfortunately i had a bad night worrying and was stressed throughout the induction so it came a bit late. I had to come home and collapse into bed, slept from 12 till 8, the whole thing just completely exhausted me.

isnt the work program for people that has been stamped (by atos /dwp fit for work within 6 months and the program starts 3 months before expected to be fit for jsa ?
anyone any info on this ?
edit forgot to say enjoy the holiday im sure the date can be changed for the apointment

3 months is correct not sure about six months i think it'll be over that once the remaining 3 months are finished, though it could have been 3 months to this point my sense of time is tragic atm. :o

Thank you i will try and enjoy myself. :)
  • You seem to be digging yourself into more of a hole with every post. Might be best to give up whilst you're ahead!

I'm not the one embarrassing myself by wasting my time pretending to be an amateur internet sleuth. Please stick to your day job its clear you know nothing about chronic conditions compared to all the doctors, osteopaths, specialists, atos health care professionals and DWP decison makers involved in my case, all of which have disagreed with you.

How you can delude yourself that your biased opinion is superior to theirs is beyond me. How anyone can delude themselves that i can pull the wool over the eyes of so many professionals is beyond me. Finally how anyone can believe i'm choosing to live on ESA money when i have a degree from Central saint martins one of the best educational establishments in my field of work is also beyond me.

I guess small minds think small. ;)
  • eskimo26, slightly unrelated, but which Work Programme provider is being used and where are the appointments taking place? I only ask as we live very close if you live near Gatwick, possibly even the same town.

Maybe because you admit to manipulating the professionals that are trying to help you?

he told me the induction was 9:00 AM, its a group induction so i understand it can't be moved but i wanted to test him. I told him mornings were a struggle with my condition and would he be able to offer anything else, he checked and said they're all in the mornings. Again i strung it out just to test his training with disabled claimants and complained it wasn't considering the needs of people on ESA with chronic conditions. He said and i quote 'well you won't get a condition more debilitating then mine i have autism mate, and i'm afraid the job centre requires you to find a job.'

I knew straight away he has had zero training in helping disabled clients. Also the job centre DOES NOT require me to find a job

the work programme wont have an issue with it and will try to arrange anything you have to do for when you are not away.

Which professional did i 'manipulate'? The employment adviser who had nothing to do with my treatment or diagnosis who i've only met once? We were talking about my medical condition and the professionals involved...

I can't tell if your confused or desperately clutching at straws. What i did was try and find out if he was experienced with the needs of disabled people using standards set by my own JC+ adviser.

I do however like the idea of being some kind of Machiavellian mastermind its very colourful. Sadly Professor Moriarty I am not, though i applaud you for your imagination, even if its somewhat verging on the paranoid...
