Did you get the push for having that attitude towards customers?
It was your choice to stack shelves for minimum wage - why take it out on the people who actually pay them?
Because they have no right to talk to him like that, he or she is paid to do a job nothing more, they are not serfs or indentured servants or slaves. They chose to shop there and while it is wrong to reply like that it is a bit thick to imagine a shelf stacker has anything to do with the prices.
Personally I have butted in when someone has abused staff in a supermarket and you should see how docile some of the biggest gobshïtes become when someone whose responses are not dictated by company policy and fear of losing their job steps in. Only once has it gone as far as “car park now” to another bloke (who asked what would I do if he booted me in the balls) and even then he declined. But we all know bullies are usually cowards. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

It gets me as well when customers blame me for increasing the prices of things! I just work on the tills and do nothing to contribute to help getting the customers a better deal for their money - that's head office and numerous buyers.
Then I get blamed for things like 'It was only £1 last week. Now its £1.40' - when the product was on special offer for the last 3 weeks!0 -
Well don't go telling Asda but i spent nearly £60 yesterday on shopping and paid by card.Looked at my bank account on line and they only debited £32 :rotfl:0

We had one of those £5 off your next shop vouchers as advertised on TV.paid for the shopping and was told the voucher was out of date by one day.I said that the TV add states £5 off your next shop but they would not budge so we asked for the manager and got the supervisor who also said no.Then we had duty manager who also said no.Ok i said i'll have a refund of my £230 shopping please. With that came the reply ok we will do it just this once.I see the new advert has larger letters in the small print about the voucher having a use by date and it has also been extended to one month.0

But VAT is only 20%. That increase is a bit more, but every little helps the supermarkets.
It's only a game

Asda's prices rise in many cases just before they do a highly publicised Rollback - they are not alone, most supermarkets are in the habit of increasing prices on certain pack sizes only to claim a reduction/offer later.
When you shop regularly you notice which items these are (Nescafe Gold Blend, Rocky Bars, Right Guard, the list goes on) and I am careful to only buy them when they are at the lower price (which you could argue is actually the price it should be!).
In the case of roast chicken, the chances are this will appear on offer at 2 for £8/9 or similar offer (so put up the price, put on an offer - price is similar to what you paid before the price rise and you have had to buy 2 to get the similar price).

50p for 48 now, just checked online they're 10p more then Sainsburys & 15p more then Tesco everyday value! It's scandelous & very sneaky :mad:0

I see they're doing this again (£5 off £40 shop) at the moment. There's a huge hoarding near me advertising it. I'm torn between stocking up on a few bits that are same price as anywhere else/offers and getting 12.5% off next shop. I'll check how much I you need to spend to get the voucher. I go to Asda every week for diesel but haven't done my food shop there in ages.0
