Me too!! Live with him, ignore Arthur because he sounds like he doesn't know what he is talking about! It is far too risky NOT to live with him!!! I think I need a drink Lottee, wanna join me?0

 Yes please, but let's wait for Graham, he can get the first round in !!! lol!!!

He generally gets the last word in, so I think it's only fair he buys the first round!!! :rotfl:

Pah I take it your 'you know who you are' was aimed towards Kellogs! It had an x at the end, thats how I know

As for me having the last word, I never do! As for me getting the drinks in, fine, I'm happy with that. Kellogs, ever tried m ysouthern comfort?! It's a special one

Right, back to the OP. Please stop saying it's unfair, it's not. It's not really fare that I go to work 12 months of the year and then only get paid for 7 in real terms as that what it works out as. I only take home 7 months of the 12 months I earn.
Out of that 7 months I then spend about 3.5 weks solid wages on council tax alone, so you could say I get 6 months. To physically get to work I have to pay road tax, so more of what I have left going to the government. I then pay god knows how much in fuel to get to work, then pay again to the council to park my car. So you could say over the year (roughly £300 in parking and £200 road tax) thats over a weeks wages gone to in charges for working. (not even including the fuel, remember, its 65% fuel duty and I spend about £120 a month on fuel, so another £80 roughly to the taxman)
So I'm left with 5.5 months to myself. Which I then pay about 2 months worth of wages out on mortgage payments (I get no help). So 3.5 months left. I then have to pay full rate water & electric payments, so another half a months wages gone. I'm left with 3 months....
So although roughly 5 months pure wages goes on income tax, you can see how much else goes on paying for everything that a single parent get's paid for them....out of that money that I and others are putting into the pot from our income tax!
Not to mention the 1872 hours I spend every single year of my life in a place to get those wages when I could be doing much better things with my life.
And I haven't got a child to look after and am in a well paid job. So those working on average wages who get no help also have to pay for everything for their child.
I hope you now see why some of us think it's unfair for the taxpayer to pay for your child and hundreds of thousands around the country.
Not having a pop, but sometimes think a good rundown of what it costs the worker and what we do, and what we actually get back is good for reference to other peoples 'its unfair' claims.
Phew, i done ranting.
Drink anyone!?0 -
Well I for one struggled to read that Graham, I am sat here in hysterics crying with laughter. You really do have a way with words !!! lol - My 4 year old is asking what I'm laughing at, but I'm sure he's a little young to understand! I will however drum all of what you have said over the past 24 hours into him as soon as he is old enough! lol !
And as for the Southern Comfort, well that's freakin hilarious !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your easily amused!
And it wasn't meant to be funny! It was serious! I nearly cried out of heartache for myself
I'm off to enjoy the delight and nourishment of a microwave meal now. It's the most exciting thing thats happened to me all day

You should try some good home cooking - I would offer but I'm recovering from an operation at the moment, so can't oblige! Get the drinks in though! What is special about your Southern Comfort then? Sounds intruiging.0

I'd like to say suck it and see, but that could be taken in a different way, but you'll just have to try it and see how you like it, spoil the surprise otherwise.
As for cooking, that means:
1. waiting longer for it to cook and
2. buying ingredients instead of one box
3. washing up
4. effort
5. a nasty aftertaste (my cooking aint good)
6. erm, dunno, but....but, leave me alone!
I do have a freezer full of goodies, but can't be bothered with it all, I got some weird stuff in there that I don't even know what it is! Looked nice though.
Dunno how this thread has turned into my Graham's nutrional advice thread, but ahh well.0 -
It tastes soooo much better than shop bought stuff - well it should if you do it properly! So should be worth the extra effort, including the washing up! Start small and work up!!!0

My southern comfort? Why thankyou, didnt know you could buy it in the shops!

As for tasting better, it may do, but I just spent about 30 secs preparing and 4 mins waiting for a casserole with dumplings to cook and 5 mins eating it. Quality. Thats dinner over with in about 10 mins!0
