  • OP joe brown and monsoon stuff should sell well, but beware buy-it-now costs 40 pence, auction might be cheaper or free on free listing days.
I'd sell all branded stuff individually and create a bundle out of less popular/cheaper brands/basic stuff if you want to save time.

I will do that on tatty stuff... But as for designer names I can't risk selling for 99p lol.. Unless I shill bid. But that's just so wrong on so many levels... Hence why I never buy from auctions just buy it now.

Think I will do buy it now with best offer for designer stuff and the tatty stuff 99p start price in auction...

I have my photos ready Just got to get kids of to bed then I will list. (not all, just MY wardrobe, not including the top or bottom lol)

Oh I am so excited now.. :D.

I used to be a right eBay geek... Think I forgot how to do the html and all now..

Thanks so much all advice/tips :)
  • I currently have 8 PS3 games selling for a tenner (a bundle) and I say to myself, they'll sell for what the value is.. like, if I get a tenner and no more for it, that's the value of it, else more people would be interested :)

Just list them for 10 days and it then gives people time to find the, etc!
  • Sold for £16.75! :D and buyer paid straight away, which is a bonus.

Compared to the £1.68 you will pay for your item on FVFs, you save all of 10p.

OP - if you didn't like it then, you won't like it now. Business is hard work; eBay is no different, and pleasing your customers is important. When you say some buyers were OK about your issues with stock, for instance, you seem to imply that people shouldn't have been upset or disappointed that something that wasn't their fault delayed or ruined their purchase. It was a disaster, and no doubt you handled it well, but I bought something last Christmas before the worst of the snow (late in November) and although I was OK about waiting for it - it was only for myself; wouldn't have dreamt about doing my Christmas shopping online with the weather problems that have been going on for three years now - I did still want the item and was annoyed when the seller promised me a replacement if it didn't turn up within two weeks. I emailed her constantly during the third week and she ignored me until I opened a dispute. Then the item arrived - she was dropshipping from HMV, so she had absolutely no control over things she was responsible for to her buyers. I felt rather sorry for her, I repaid, but I left her a neutral because she really mucked me around, and I was patient and reasonable about why she said there was a problem. But...she was the architect of her own downfall because she neglected to answer emails that didn't suit her. OK, it was the weather, but she was doing fine until there was a crisis, then she was crippled, because she didn't have the responsibility on her end to deal with it properly. It was ultimately her loss. Other sellers handled things a lot better and got rewarded for it.

Your buyers need to be kept happy to maintain a business or private selling - there's no way round it and eBay are much, much tougher on sellers who don't live up to their responsibility. I know I sound like a broken record but buyers don't like to be taken for granted or treated like cash-cows. They will complain, they will leave bad feedback, they won't always see the problems at your end (a favourite refrain at Christmas has come to be "there's no snow here" - which is unfair, but at the same time you must go into this with eyes open) and they won't take kindly to having their money messed with or held for two weeks while you get round to sorting a problem.

I'm sorry, but there's no less blunt way to put that.

I used to do eBay as a business, I know all about keeping customers happy, I had 100% feedback, But a certain box I had with stock in, managed to get leaked into, So I contacted all buyers (plus ended the listing for this certain product) And refunded them all, explaining what has happened, I did this straight away!! They all understood, bar 3 and those 3 left me a neutral which made my feedback drop big time, and my stars were very low (this is when the stars came out). I got suspended AND Never bothered anymore, I got myself a real job, it all got to much for me then, stressing out over certain take the !!!! buyers.. (just had to look at their feedback left for others, geez).

Now I am back to sell again, BUT not as a business, I am a private seller, selling stuff I don't want. I have just listed 100 items, explained them best to my knowledge, and started them all at 99p except for designer stuff.. more will go on over the next few days/weeks. Am getting very excited now.. :o

wow you haven't done bad, I think most I've listed from scratch(eg not re-listing) was about 30 in one day and I was absolutely drained. To be honest I would worry about listing more in one go for the fear of them all selling and me drowning in the amount of packing/posting *I state 1 day dispatch time*.

65 of them are for my Dad, He sent me the pics and a spread sheet, and the daft thing stuck raffle tickets to the clothes, so he could number them on the spread sheet. Was pretty easy once I listed one of them. :D. HE will be busy at the post office if they sell, which I hope they do, as all funds from his auction are going towards a tummy/boob tuck for him, as he has lost a lot of weight, bless him.
